When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

I had him going 8 to Carolina because they already have receivers. In that scenario I could see it.

Because you're saying a receiving threat not being an elite blocker is going to have to come off the field.

Randy Moss was in goal line packages for the Vikings. They 'aint taking Pitts off the field.

TE in college generally aren’t great blockers. That doesn’t change the fact that that expectation is much higher at the next level and that most TE don’t even start right away because of that

Pitts will obviously start but will have to rotate out more often than Chase or Devonta for sure

  4. I would hope the position coaches could, you know, coach him up to be an adequate blocker

Why even draft Trevor Lawrence if he can't play defense? You're going to spend the first overall pick on someone who only plays half the game? Couldn't be me.

Takes time and is also not guaranteed. He does have great length for it.

thats not even close to the same thing lol. If a TE needy team drafts Pitts, their TE position is still a huge liability in the running game. No one asks offensive players to play defense. Every team asks their TE to block sometimes.

    or no? lol
because they could have great blocking TEs and still want a passing one

And if that team just needs weapons in general, then Chase / Devonta is a better pick that will impact the team more

Adrian Peterson couldn't block or catch and he was almost always on the field.
Tyreek Hill can't block and he's always on the field.

    What you're saying is irrelevant.

  11. I wouldn't complain if he was the pick but I'm so tired of not having a good OL I think we absolutely would have to take Slater (or of course Sewell) at #8. The only way that changes is if a team in the teens offers a haul to move back. At that point, bpa.

    Devonta over Pitts is bananas.

The argument is literally that Pitts is a better weapon. Because he blocks better than those WR's, even if it's worse than most TE's. You can play him inline and have a 6'6 slot guy matching up against LB's.

Weapons are used in different ways. Just because you lack the imagination to make something work doesn't mean everyone does. The Bengals for example, perfect for Pitts.

  15. Even if he isn't blocking, his presence on the field alone can make a positive impact on the running game.

Right, Randy Moss being out wide in a goal line package forces the team to dedicate a player too him AND a safety leaking that way (if not outright doubling)...which is better than a single blocking TE would do.

Things I havent thought about for a second with Darren Waller: "can he block"

It is flat out asinine to me you’re okay with the Bengals drafting Pitts but not Chase. That just makes absolutely zippo sense

not in any way that a top receiver doesn’t. In fact, I’d say the receiver is more likely to pull safeties out of the box.

Elite TE is more important to a QB than an elite LT do not @ me.

I never said I wasn't okay with them taking Chase lol. Sewell is the smart pick. But if your logic is "Burrow needs a weapon", yeah it makes sense to add Kyle Pitts instad of a third WR.

What's stopping them from... splitting Kyle Pitts wide?

    Pitts + Moore > Chase + Sample

Just trade your 6ths and 7ths, get as high as you can in the remaining rounds and draft OL down the board lol

"I don't like Pitts, he's only an elite receiver"

"Why draft Pitts when you can have an elite receiver?"

    ???
