Toney is a special case. We’d be taking him because he’s shifty to a RARE degree. You can just use that so many ways.

 

There are so many things the Bengals and the Jaguars need and none of them are receivers lmao

 

You’ll notice I’ve fallen off of the Jags drafting any other receiver early but I make exception for Toney

 

Toney isnt THAT good

 

R-E-L-A-X the Jaguars have a lot of picks, responsibly filled some holes with meat and potatoes free agent signings but without spending big on flashy players, and are under no pressure to be amazing right away.

Chasing need over value at this juncture isnt necessarily going to provide you with better results, we are early into this, there are multiple paths you can take

 

Bengals do need one but its not priority need like OL or defense haha

Especially considering the OL and DL we are targeting in mock drafts are probably gone by 25 in real life

 

But like, the Jaguars are really bad. They have needs in a lot of places so chasing need and maximizing value are kinda the same thing for them since there’s only like three positions they don’t need haha

 

Yeah, a WR4 is definitely not a priority

 

Toney takes a lot of pressure off Trevor Lawrence imo. Gives him a lot of easy reads to mix into more complex stuff. I think that’s just as good.

 

Jaelan Dardon would too. Elijah Moore. Etc...

 

You could make that argument about literally any position.

CB takes a lot of pressure off Lawrence by minimizing how many points the offense needs to put up.

 

A place kicker takes pressure off Lawrence because it limits how many yards you need to gain to get points. PK at 25!

 

You’re getting way too meta and indirect about it at that point. I really disagree that has the same impact.

Lol I’m mostly having fun with you because I don’t think the Jags should use a 1st on Toney. I think they have bigger needs and still have the ability to get a player who can have a bigger impact at 25, and I think they can add a WR later on and be fine.

Now if you wanna say you want them to get Toney because it would be really fun for you as a fan, well giddy up. That’s totally fair. I only disagree on “should” haha.

Chase is the right pick for the Bengals imo.

Jeopardy might offer Rodgers an extension before the Packers do

 

Chase/Mayfield is FAR worse than Sewell/MarshallToneyMooreWhoever

 

The Bengals run three WR's more than any team in the NFL. I don't think they'll be in a position to grab an elite WR for quite some time. I really like Sewell but it takes a lot more than a LT to make a good offensive line, and they've already invested heavily in it.

I don't think they can go wrong, but if I'm Cinci I'd take Chase, pair him with Burrow.
