We'll all be dead and Teddy Bridgewater will be signing another two-year prove it deal only to get cut after one year.

 

Darnold may not work out in Carolina. But I think the risk with him is just as high as taking the 5th best QB in a draft class, or trading up for the 4th best QB in a draft class. Especially when you consider that our top 10 pick this year can be used to continue building a strong, young roster. If Darnold doesn't work out, at least we will have another key piece for the rebuild. The next attempt at finding the next QB will be made, and that QB will still be walking into a solid situation. So while I don't necessarily love the trade, I don't think it will set us back that much if he stinks.

 

I'm a little surprised nobody has gone after him yet. Give me a dirt cheap contract and a guy who's at least shown passable starter qualities
