I really just don’t know what’s so intimidating about it. It’s not an official stat collector for the NFL. They are under no obligation to only include people who have inside knowledge and they never have been strict about that.

 

dude it's not intimidating or anything. i'm not putting authority on them or anything. i'm saying you made a dumb fucking comment about how I, someone with a medium page, a twitter account with 11 followers, and photoshop, and you, someone with remarkably even less than that, are the same as people who have literally spent their lives doing this, people with Master's and PHDs, coaches, players, etc... It's astounding ignorant or astoundingly arrogant, I don't know or care which but dying on this hill is astoundingly stupid as fuck and you need to stop.

 

You literally boast that you are a better scout for talent than actual NFL GMs, a talent pool of 32 people in the entire country

and you’re saying like, because PFF now has ex NFL players involved, that we couldn’t have been one of the thousands of amateur stat collectors they hired over the years. You’re taking a small sample of their entire workforce. Being a stat collector for PFF is a notoriously low paying job. They aren’t just out here hiring hundreds of experts. They probably have leadership with high pedigree like you’re saying - as every household name business does - but that’s not the people they were advertising for open jobs as a base level stat collector. You have an inflated view of it. Their sports analysis is done by a lot of self trained football analysts.

I mean you can cuss and get condescending but PFF was literally a totally non-league start-up thing (started by a UK football fan! Not even anyone remotely affiliated with the league at all) until Chris Collinsworth bought it in 2014, and it’s not like they just up and fired all the people that had been with the company. It got really popular and now more and more NFL-insiders have gotten involved. But PFF still very much makes opinion based grades and not all of the opinions are league-insider experts or people with PHDs in statistics.

Catching up after my post was fun lol. Only thing I'll say is it isn't quarterback efficiency/passer rating, it's PFF grade which, supposedly at least, takes into account difficulty of throw, pressure, ball placement, etc. PFF doesn't have to be perfect or great for it to be useful either.

If Cincy doesn’t draft offensive line then maybe just close down that franchise. How anyone could watch what happened to Mahomes in the super bowl behind a bad offensive like after looking like Superman for the better part of three years and think, “playmakers will save us!” is insane and clearly just not paying attention

 

I honestly think Teven Jenkins should be getting talked about more than he does.

He plays a lot like Tristan Wirfs, who received a lot more hype. Idk that they’re that different of prospects. He’s a ridiculous drive blocker who just bullies people ugly even when his technique isn’t perfect.

Jenkins will be a hell of a run blocker in the NFL (but also has the body and flashes of great kickslide technique showing he can handle pass block duties too.) He would be the perfect replacement for Orlando Brown in Baltimore if he really does fall as far as people think.

 

They also have Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins; there's probably at least a dozen teams in the league weaker at WR. Throw in whoever's available at pick 38, who's still like what, the 5th or 6th best WR? The gulf between Chase and that guy probably isnt as big as the gulf between Sewell and the 10th best OL prospect

 

yep. I also feel like, if the time comes and they feel they need an upgrade at offensive weapon, those guys get traded more often (and for cheaper) than a stud offensive linemen, which to me says that offensive weapons are easier to replace than great offensive linemen.

the old adage of “build from the inside out” still holds true.

 

They could literally probably give Burrow his OTHER weapon Terrance Marshall anyway hahah
