Injuries have derailed his career. To say he hasn't ever been in a weapon in the NFL is just false.

I'm not arguing that he's any good anymore but he was at one point.

Ah, yeah, I'll agree with that. I wont say he was ever a true #1 WR, but, that 2014/2015 Sammy Watkins would be making 8 figures today for sure.

 

He’s also one of those guys who you look at more negatively because he didn’t perform to his draft expectations

Like, he looks similar on paper to Will Fuller, is only a year older, yet people aren’t batting an eye at Fuller being a low end WR1 or high end WR2 like they would for Watkins

 

Sammy Watkins is a better version of what Cordarrelle Patterson has become, but he's just not durable enough to handle too many touches.

 

as of right now, I will say no....I think the reason they moved backup to 6 was because they wanted to secure at least one of Chase, Smith, Pitts, or Waddle

Crazy that we went from Sewell being a pretty sure-fire lock at either 2 or 3, to possibly not even cracking the top 10, through no fault of his own

With the Bengals having one of the worst O-Lines. They should have no reason to pass on him.

 

He's still a top three prospect in the class.

Being that it's the Bengals, and the Burrow/Chase connection, I'd say there's a high chance they take Chase

49ers are taking Trey Lance. They obviously have to do their due diligence and checkout the other QBs as well.
