@CarpetElf I’m gonna be fair and admit I only skimmed the list when I said “slow as molasses” and was referring to like, Stafford / Goff.

I wouldn’t consider Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz, or Baker Mayfield “slow” either - even though, oddly, they ran similar times to Stafford / Goff... just goes to show 40 time isn’t everything haha.

EDIT: Adding onto that, I think when people say Mac Jones lacks athleticism they mean 1) arm talent, 2) agility, 3) elusiveness. Running in a straight line rarely saves a QB from pressure... the way that being able to throw a bullet off balance or being able to feel and juke defenders behind you does.

this is why I love defense. It almost doesn’t matter how mediocre or flawed the rest of your team is... if you’re getting a lot of turnovers, sacks, and scoring much more easily due to field position / defensive TDs

 

The (2003) Buccaneers, Seahawks, Broncos, and Ravens had some of the most dominant Super Bowl performances of all time in the last two decades because of their defense haha.

Only team out of those that had a good offense was the Broncos but that was with Manning at like, 25% of the arm strength he used to have lol.

and I definitely think the Bucs defense in 2020 made that superbowl win EASY for Brady. He literally only handed the ball off and threw to Gronk lol.

yeah I mean the Bucs offense IS good but they didn’t have to do shit to win that game. Brady threw 3 picks in the third quarter and still won didnt he? Or is my ADHD brain remembering a different Bucs game?

people were specifically discussing Mac Jones’ athleticism, if anything I was questioning that 4.7 means he can scramble because he doesn’t look elusive on tape

 

I don’t get why people keep calling Goff a bridge QB. The guy is 26 and won a playoff game last year. He could legit be the Lions franchise guy if he even flashes great.

Well, yeah, I think the Pats could have been in it and Miami told them to fuck off.

Sam Darnold is terrible. Goff is at least passable as a regular starter. Like, put Goff on either of those Super Bowl teams and they are still 11-5 level teams...not sure you can say that about truly terrible QBs.

Matt Ryan has almost the exact same contract issues (big cap numbers and dead money, so tradable in 21 and 22, cut-able in 22), while being a decade older on a team that was just as bad.

Goff has more of a "window" by virtue of both teams being 2-3 years older and Matt Ryan likely being out of the league by then.

Thank god, for the price they got him for, we literally cant replace him. A locked in dude for obvious run downs and anything other than like 2nd/3rd and long.
