Eh, I think the price is too high. If we can get him for like, our 4th round compensatory, sure, I'd do it. Or if they released him and we signed him outright. But every hypothetical is giving him Josh Rosen levels of value, and I'm completely unwilling to spend a 2nd rounder that could be a RT or RB on a guy who, if he plays, means we go 8-8 or 9-7.

If Ben gets hurt for a prolonged stretch again, we need to just bail on the season

I would psyche myself out SO hard if I were the Panthers trying to trade up for a franchise QB with the Falcons.

depending on how the board falls, Carolina can jump Detroit to get to 6th

    just send us your 2nd + 8th for 6th

Why would Detroit trade out of drafting a QB though

Miami picks 6th, Detroit picks 7th

Carolina may want to jump Detroit to get a QB if one falls

Barry Jackson said that Miami had 4 offers that they were weighing

    obviously one was SF
Rapoport said that Philly wanted to move up to 3 but only for Zach Wilson so we can assume they were two
I would imagine Carolina probably made an offer

wonder who the 4th team was

I agree. Goff has a fully guaranteed $15mil roster bonus next year, and the restructure also puts another $15mil in dead cap money that would accelerate. Maybe he'd get traded again, but short of that, he's DET's starter for 2021 and 2022.

    Could've just been Atlanta

Mac Jones's lack of athleticism is a stupid criticism that I allow to happen because it's like the first time every we've said that about a white QB.

    My guess would be

    A. The Falcons, but on draft day depending who fell to #3
    B. Vikings or Patriots?

Could see the Vikings in a similar spot as Detroit, but with more flexibility, where they have their QB right now, they have good options around him, and want to get the starter for 2022 and beyond and trade Kirk to a QB needy team for their picks back next offseason. Would make sense for like a Lance.

I don't think it would be the Pats unless Miami was EXTREMELY low on whoever the Pats want at 3

Apparently, zach wilson worked as a doordash delivery guy for awhile. He did it so he could afford football training.

Are we sure pick 4 is a quarterback? In my opinion, not necessarily

I would LOVE to hear the argument as to why Detroit is likely to draft a QB but Atlanta isn't

Because Matt Ryan on the Falcons still represents a competitive “window” and Goff on the Lions ... doesn’t

I also never said Detroit was likely, just that it’s an option because Trey Lance sitting for 1.5-2 years is actually a good way to take a DII quarterback

Matt Ryan and the Falcons are picking fourth overall in the division with the defending super bowl champions. The window is gone. Goff is young. That window could re-open.

I think both teams are equally possible, but not probable, destinations for a QB

If Atlanta isn't planning on taking a quarterback at 4, they'll trade the pick.
