That's an interesting trade.

It is essentially the same move Maccagnan made to get up to 3 but SF was further back so they gave up more.

Miami is taking themselves out of range to land a top prospect but they still have ammo to move back up a few spots.

 

Dolphins got one pick this year???

 

It guarantees that SF gets QB3. They are likely comfortable with any of the options.

 

SF has a nice team in a tough division with playoff aspirations, too. I can't envision them trusting this team with a rookie. I don't see them letting Jimmy go, yet.

 

Honestly, I'm not sure I love this for Miami. I definitely don't hate it for them.
