Started a new class yesterday called “Innovative Leadership” which will either be the easiest credits I ever earn or the worst class ever.

Yeeesh. Reminds me of a question I got in like 9th grade about the definiton of "charisma", and I answered that it was positive....and my teacher asked if Hitler had charisma and I said "I hope not by the way I defined it".

Genuinely no idea why you'd go with MLK there...alongside one of the worst human beings of all time and a cult leader...when there's TONS of "emotional" leaders in history.

Has anyone scouted the Senior Bowl much / videos of Senior Bowl practice reps on YouTube?

I gotta be honest. Senior Bowl really didn’t make Alex Leatherwood and Deonte Brown look that great lol. Both of them have REALLY slow feet and a problem dealing with speed.

And at least Deonte Brown is huge so he fits a niche for teams that like to run power up the gut and don’t ask him to work to the second level that much..... Leatherwood is basically a worse Cam Robinson

Its dope that 3 of the 4 top corners in this draft are sons of NFL studs - Surtain, Horn, and Samuel.

It definitely cracks me up people are talking about Samuel being too undersized and “definitely a slot corner” when his dad was literally an All Pro outside CB at the same size haha

 

Im so fascinated that they chose those 3 people. You can make a really compelling case study of MLK + Hitler (two guys using popular public methods of disseminating ideas that arent actually popular in the moment...for, decidedly different outcomes). Replace Hitler with Jim Jones and its easy to talk about religion as a cover for true motives. But the Venn diagram of all 3; it's not great if your intention isn't to make MLK seem manipulative or responsible for a lot of deaths.

Everyone I know who's gotten knocked out by it says there's a lull; like get it at noon, and from 8pm->next day, it sucks.

Though I'm real happy, my wife gets her 2nd shot Saturday, my 87yr old grandfather gets his first Friday, my mom and dad both get their first shots Sat/Sun (yay PA being WEEKS behind MD where my 34yr old wife gets shots before an 87yr old and two 50+ year olds), and I become eligible in MD starting Monday.

Shits wild, a year ago this time, I had been locked down a little over a week...had just really made the switch to "grocery store no more than once a week, stock up on everything"...but thought surely the lock downs would mean it'd be over by summer. And next week I'll get a miracle drug that takes away every fear I've had for the 11 months that actually followed.

When I originally went to Robert H Smith School of Business they brought up:

1) Enron shutting down power grids to drive up stock prices,
2) Chiquita Banana financing South American terrorists to operate plantations on their land

as “ethical ***dilemmas***” that can be REAL TOUGH DECISIONS between profit and clearly reprehensible activity.

And I remember it so well because that’s probably the specific point when 19 year old idealistic me said “fuck this I don’t want to participate in any of this” and stopped putting in effort.

They’re teaching a mindset more so than they’re teaching you how to actually do anything
