This is why I was hesitant at first; details from one case and a lawyer (who happens to be friends with the team) seeming to go over the top in talking about it

But yeah, Watson just became untradeable. Its the NFL, so the more likely outcome is he plays every game in 2021 than actually being suspended, but Miami isnt offering Tua + 3 1sts for Watson off this.

It benefits the Texans because now that they are dumping Watson they can save face with the fanbase.

 

It doesn’t benefit them because if they trade him the value is gonna be a lot lower. And if they don’t trade him then they have an extremely awful dude at QB. It’s lose lose for them with this.

Teams will gladly take an awful dude at QB. Ben Roethlisberger had had a neverending career, Jameis Winston was a first overall selection. If Watson settles out of court or something, he’ll have a long career and based on the current situation, I wouldn’t be that surprised if he played more seasons with the Texans. But it’s a weird situation that we’re still very early in.

 

I think (fortunately) there's been enough of a shift in how this kind of thing is viewed over the past few years that this could potentially end Watson's career in the NFL.

 

I’d hope, but won’t ever keep my hopes high for stuff like this, particularly regarding the NFL.

 

I have a weird prediction:

Jaycee Horn ends up a better pro long term than Surtain II or Farley

I like his instincts and competitiveness a lot. All 3 CBs are very close together.

I feel like you have to draft Surtain first because he’s bigger and more technical and represents higher potential... but Horn seems to just really get it on a natural instincts level.

 

Not to mention the amount of lawsuits/accounts that are coming out about it would be incredibly damning. Idk. I'd like to think there's been a decent enough of a shift where this would be potentially career ending for him

Ben's happened way before the NFL even feigned caring and he still took a suspension for it. Winston's was messier, but he did get suspended for a later incident. Obviously Ray Rice's career came to a hard stop. I think you're right that teams will take on anyone, but even Greg Hardy getting signed happened before #MeToo.
