Also, why spend top money on TE's and also throw away money on these moves.

I never understood all of the hype around signing Corey Linsley to play center. McGovern is fine. He isn't great or anything but he'll get the job done.

Thuney made a lot of sense but who can blame him for taking the same amount of money with Kansas City? It's a much better situation.

This draft class is loaded with IOL prospects. The Jets should be able to find a guard in the first few rounds.

    This is what I'm saying.

Kendrick Bourne is a WR4 at best.

The Jets were linked to him all offseason because the LaFleur. Glad he went elsewhere.

If New England* still had Tom Brady then these moves make a lot more sense.

I think the Pats offense right now comes entirely down to Cam, Wynn, and whatever happens at center. If Andrews returns and Wynn is healthy, the run game is going to be phenomenal. That's a top tier line. Harris looked excellent last year, and end of the season version of Sony was much closer to the college/Super Bowl run version of himself than the garbage 2019 version. Cam needs be merely decent to make that work.

Hate hate hate the shit out of the Agholor signing, though. I think Bourne is going to be excellent playing for McDaniels. Meyers and Bourne sounds like shit on paper but with Smith and Henry they're in such better shape than last year before even accounting for Edelman's health.

My gut says Cam is still bad and that makes them not a contender. But given that virtually every one of these signings has their whole theoretical prime ahead I'm feeling good about these moves for the most part - they're overspending to plug holes, but there shouldn't really be regret back end years on any of these contracts (except NA who I imagine we regret by October).

Wynn and Brown are two of the most injury prone offensive linemen in the NFL.

Betting on Wynn at LT is a huge gamble.

Pats should have signed Golladay instead of Bourne/Agholor

I mean this is fair; its still Bill and the team always finds a way to win. But his record on WRs is bad and those WR deals are laughably bad. They paid Agholor the kind of money AAV that gets them a Samuels or Juju or, for slightly more, a Golladay. Only benefit of the Agholor deal is its short and they can likely cut him after 1 year, which they're gonna want to do after they realize they are paying him twice his worth.

I really presume they have a plan much bigger than Cam, because if he didnt finish strong in that NYJ game, he's finishing the season at <2500yds with 5TD to 10INT. Gonna be a lot of money wasted on Henry/Jonnu if Cam is the starter, because he's beyond done as a full-time starting QB

Patriots have a whole draft ahead of them, this is the first step, we have no idea what the roster will look like by opening kickoff.

Lotta Pats hate bias oozing out around here.

Yeah, fine is exactly the right description. I just don’t understand thinking he’ll “thrive” in a different scheme either.

They are having to overspend on average players because they've had awful draft success for a long time

The passing scheme Lafleur brings will take pressure off the interior - doesn't mean you can have absolute swiss cheese in the middle, but the center will be in a good spot more often than not. I think the use of actual outside zone will allow McGovern to thrive as a run blocker.

i thought the same thing lol but Belichick’s offense has pretty much always leaned more on TE anyway

And have him run 7 yard routes underneath the zone for Cam Newton?

it wouldn’t work with the QB they have imo

do you know the type of players Agholor and Bourne are? They are speedy deep threats

    Cam can't throw it deep
