Bad cap situation in Tampa imo.

  2. would take that cap situation for a super bowl win 100/100 times

not bad, not bad. Probably a best case scenario to keep him but for cheaper.

I think they end up keeping both guys. They have the wiggle room by extending Nelson or Decastro or a few others to do both. But I agree Dupree is 100% gone, as is likely Juju and Villanueva. And I'd only want Conner back at like, $5mil/yr at most

Bucs only have like 4 non-rookies under contract in 2022 (I guess with Godwin, Barrett, etc it'll go up to like 7 or 8), so they have like $100+ mil in space there. Tons of room to push money into the future.

Hell, Tom Brady's contract is there to push money in the future...he's got an $8mil base salary and no other money except the prorated signing bonus.

edit: And looking at it, the Bucs have a half dozen contracts in their final year (Donovan Smith, JPP, Jensen, Howard, etc) that if they want to keep any of those guys longer term, they can free up a bunch of cap space quick.

plus you know me - I don't think any cap situation is every so bad that a team can't take care of it haha

Yeah I was poking fun at @xbrokendownx, I'm of firm belief that the Bucs have been greatly managed and were primed to compete without Brady.

Then big daddy Brady came calling and they won a SB.

Yeah, the teams that screw themselves are the ones that hand $80mil combined to two 30+ yr old WRs with a history of injuries...or extend a bunch of 30+ year old guys with 4-5yr deals.

I think the Rams are screwed eventually cause they loose so much value in 1st round pick quality...but, the dudes they are paying big money to are elite players in their prime, or Whitworth who is still like half the cost of an elite LT.

It feels like some teams are finally realizing that cap space isn’t a thing

Also, having Brady means you take on a QB who will gladly take less money to win. Someone did an analysis where they basically revealed he gave away tens of millions over his career in NE, versus the #1 QB salary, and its probably why NE won so much
