Ive spent a lot of time thinking about this and thanking my lucky stars it didn’t happen. Would have been the best QB/Coach combo by many many many miles the Pats had to deal with.

I still think it's fucking hilarious they used to called the Saints the "Aint's" cause they were bad

Jaguars were mockingly called the Jagwads, and Bucs were called the "Yucks" but "Aint's" takes the damn cake

basically how the cap operates every year - no team will ever truly get screwed by it

  7. are we sure yet though? obviously they are finding the money they need to do what they want to do. They weren't going to be good next year anyways.

Also, I’m issuing an official proclamation from the RB contracts suck committee:

This deal ain’t bad. He’s one of the only weapons they have, and has waaaaay less miles on him then most free agent RBs.

yes? They've cut like every veteran on their team and their QB is Taysom Hill

    I mean come on

    Not here. Isn't happening. Supporter

I mean they still have a surprisingly talented team despite dealing with the ramifications of “cap hell”. Like I’d take the Saints over the whole NFC East still. I do think they’ve taken a big hit but they still look like they’ll be competitive.

If selling out to win ends with the “Cap Hell” punishment of being a fringe playoff team as opposed to a lock playoff team, well, the cap is crap haha

I had no idea the saints were so far ahead of so many teams in exceeding the cap at one point this offseason. And that taysom hill voidable contract is fucking hilarious.

  13. Sure but their QB is Taysom Hill because they are stupid talent evaluators not because of the cap

again they are in a sticky situation but are they truly screwed? No they aren’t

the packers had negative cap space as of two weeks ago and still were able to get under the cap and keep Preston Smith and Aaron Jones

    no team is ever screwed

lol @ NFL network trying so hard to spin the cancel narrative and say

"HES DONE SO MUCH FOR BLACK PEOPLE IN NEW ORLEANS"
"HE WON WALTER PAYTON MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD"

Like bruh, yes he helped New Orleans during Katrina, he also acted like black folks have nothing to be upset about in this country. Both can be true. JK Rowling wrote books that inspired tolerance among readers and then betrayed that tolerance by being a loud ass TERF on Twitter who doesn't know when to shut the hell up. These things are not mutually exclusive haha

The Hill deal is also a mirage; he can be cut next year and just have been cap savings this year...I expected them to do this cause they need the free space for Winston on a Cam type deal

    To add onto this,

This is what took away Chad Pennington's arm strength and eventually ended his career. This is why Pennington never fully lived up to that #1 overall draft position. Pennington was the consensus top QB *prospect* in the draft that had Tom Brady.

Meanwhile, Brees only got BETTER and started putting up 5,000 yard seasons after this LOL

The market for RBs in this cap year is baaaaad. Smart to just take money and be locked on a good team

The cap is just an excuse for owners to not have to pay players. It doesn’t do anything to prevent smart teams from competing, and it certainly doesn’t create parity.

I bet you if I tried I could make an argument that there is more parity in baseball, an uncapped sport, than there is in football haha

Eh, it’s the reality that if Brees wanted to come back, they’d have had to let him go. And there’s a bunch of depth they’ve had to jettison

And 2022, if Hill keeps his deal, they’ve got like 20 people on the team and $30-40mil in cap space.

You can’t get gifted an Osweiler or Goff-Lions type deal if you have no cap space

  24. No cap in NFL would be glorious. Jones and Snyder pissing contest and both still sucking.

  25. They’ll find a way to wiggle out of it
