Even if you wanna call Mark Brunell "elite" (which... probably not. He was good but not elite)... He still only had 4 good seasons, 1996-1999. Dude was washed after that.

I wish the real draft was this easy. Adding two guys like Moore and Schwartz to our offense would be ridiculous.

QBs around the same level: Kerry Collins, Drew Bledsoe, Doug Flutie, Vinny Testaverde

So yeah, not even top 10. Brunell was a QB in the 11-13 range who benefitted from literally elite WRs, line, and RB

 

Note, not calling Jimmy Smith or Keenan McCardell elite individually... but having both those guys and Kyle Brady was an elite combination of weapons for sure. A top 10, close to top 5 WR1... a WR2 who was good enough to play WR1 on some teams... and though his numbers aren't impressive now, Brady was a great receiving TE in a time where Sharpe / Gonzalez were the "first" TE who could catch like wideouts.

I would say only the Bills, Cowboys, Rams and Vikings had better weapons at each of their peaks. And then later (like 1999) the Colts.

Meanwhile imo Fred was easily a top 5 RB.... and though the Cowboys and Rams might have had better O-lines overall, the Jags offensive tackles specifically (Boselli & Searcy) might have been the #1 duo in the NFL

 

Drew Bledsoe was better than Mark Brunell and I want a camera live on your face when the Jags draft Justin Fields.

more production but took a lot more sacks and threw a lot more picks also

 

One at least got to a Super Bowl, the other cried on ESPN.

If he's too expensive I'd rather hard-target at least one really good OL in the draft (Humphrey, Christiansen, Eichenberg, praying Darrisaw falls to us)

 

OR I'd also rather just sign Joe Thuney since he doesn't cost a draft pick
