It probably is, but also, are you willing to bet they get back to the Super Bowl in the next 3 years?

I'm not even arguing to tear any of these teams down to the studs, just that I think coming so close and blowing it has to leave a mark.

Does Blank still come down to the sidelines in the second half because maybe he should stop doing it since multiple teams have told us it partially fueled their comeback haha

Maybe. It sounds like the Madden Curse though. Maybe it gets into people’s heads, but probably there are a lot of other factors that matter a lot more for team/individual performance on a year in, year out basis but blowing a Super Bowl would correlate reasonably well with them

I'm also specifically talking about Catastrophe. I don't think the Chiefs are screwed now because they lost the Super Bowl, even if it was a blowout. I specifically mean when you blow it in historic, unprecedented, embarrassing fashion, that's where I think the stink lingers.

Yes he does, but he's been doing it almost every game since 2002. He signs a bunch of stuff, gives away tickets, etc. it has nothing to do with thinking they are going to win or whatnot. Whatever it takes for the other team though. I hope he never stops coming down to the sidelines tbh.

Seahawks, Falcons are the only team it really applies too and in my opinion definitely does apply.

Haha yeah I knew he did it every game, but like, athletes are insane and can put the rational "he does that all the time" aside and convince themselves he's Red Aurbach smokin' the cigar haha.

  8. I'd say they are in my top 5 in the NFC as they are now. And if they upgrade from Jimmy they'll be even better.

  9. Packers never recovered from 2014

All Billionaires stink but I'm very happy to have Blank as the owner.

I gotta find an article about the player's wife that had a baby awhile back, the team was away, player went to Jim Mora and told him his wife was in labor, etc. but he couldn't get home in time anyway so he wanted to play and Arthur found out and flew the woman's family to Atlanta so she wouldn't be alone during childbirth.

Speaking of owners, isn't it kind of weird that the Vikings owner is still a Giants fan?

Man, doing a little research on this topic, it's WILD how the greatest show on turf just completely vanished after that Patriots Super Bowl. I didn't realize Warner lost his job like...immediately afterward haha

maybe but there’s a big thing about the Super Bowl loser’s curse that would include the 49ers (x2), Rams, Panthers, etc in very recent memory where you can make that anecdotal connection too without there being a historic meltdown

not saying you’re wrong because I can’t prove it, just saying I think it’s more likely that the teams would have dropped from their peaks regardless than that the catastrophic loss created a culture of losing

Separate topic; What's everyone's perfect QB game? It's either Goff vs the Vikings in 2018 or Foles vs the Raiders in 2013 for me.

Honorable mention to Brady vs the Dolphins in 2007.

    there is one way out

Big Ben's 500+ yrs 6TD game against the Colts in 2014 was incredible.

Brady vs. the Dolphins was such a good one lol.

I don't know if you're looking for specifically 158.3 games, but my favorite QB game was Patriots/Steelers in 2007. Anthony Smith guaranteed victory, and it got under Brady's skin. He Throws 1 TD against him, gets in his face, and tells him how the rest of his day is gonna go. Proceeds to throw two more on him to end the day 32/46 with 399 yards and 4TDS.

Lol looking at the Box score, Bill was clearly pissed since he only ran the ball 9 freaking times.
