The Falcons lost the SB for 10000 reasons. Matt Ryan was not one of them.

    right now (with Brees retired):

    Top 10:

    1) Patrick Mahomes
    2) Aaron Rodgers
    3) Russell Wilson
    4) Tom Brady
    5) Deshaun Watson
    6) Lamar Jackson
    7) Dak Prescott
    8) Josh Allen
    9) Matt Ryan
    10) Matt Stafford

On their way up and could be top 10 later in their careers:

    Kyler Murray
    Justin Herbert
    Baker Mayfield

Why is Lamar on the QB list?

I think so, yes. I think he actually may have gotten snubbed one or two of those years where he literally carried the Seahawks on his back after the decline of LOB

I would honestly say Russ has the most balanced combination of running skills, accuracy & touch, anticipation, pocket presence, efficient / responsible decision making, and arm talent of any QB we've ever seen.

There are QBs who are better than him that specialize in certain aspects of being a QB... for example, Mahomes destroys him when it comes to arm talent, has better anticipation, and still has the mobility to be elusive in the pocket.... and is obviously even better.

but in terms of having a well rounded game and being able to attack the defense so many ways, Wilson literally does EVERYTHING A-grade well.

Yeah, I think thats where I came down too.

Wilson is also so tough; I feel like he's the model of what every team wants in a QB right now...and by the time Mahomes/Allen/etc are done, he might not look as unique, but from an era that is producing your Bens and Rivers and Staffords and Ryans, he stands out so much

Warren Moon was incredibly productive too. Productivity isn't everything. He was a very good and famous QB but you don't hear people trying to put him on the same level as Steve Young / Brett Favre

Convenient example: I easily, easily take Russ over Matt Ryan even though Russ can't hold a candle to Ryan's accumulated totals

Russ' much better efficiency, and him having WAY more pocket presence / ability to avoid the rush than Matt Ryan, is worth more than Matt Ryan's top 10 yardage totals

If Matt Ryan had Seattles defense he'd have won multiple Superbowls and he already is an MVP winner lol.

0 time MVP Russ Wils? Big mistake my guy.

Matt Ryan is just about the most boring quarterback I can think of. That's really it. But it's been ten years since he's thrown for sub-4k yards. Give the dude credit where it's due

Throwing for more than 4K yards ain’t what it used to be. In this NFL he should be doing that on an offense that has always had Julio and another really good receiver (plus a good runningback to take the pressure off)

Wilson really didn’t have LOB for that long though. He’s spent more of his career with a worse defense and again, this is the only year I’d say he has WR talent close to what Ryan had almost every year

Ryan has dealt with bad o line at times but Russ has also had to put up with much more of that

Looking through all the numbers, I hadnt appreciated how crazy consistent Brees is. 70% completions, 4500+ yards, 30TDs nearly every season

I mean, every year there's about 10 people throwing for 4k yards, sure. And none of them have a 10 year streak. Not Brees. Not Brady. Not Ben. Not Rivers.

Brees, Brady, and Ben probably would have if not for injuries. If anything this is a testament to Matt Ryan’s availability which definitely does matter but doesn’t make the point you attempted to make

I don't care if they WOULD have. They didn't. That's the point haha.

yeah, Brees threw a lot of picks so it’s impossible to say he was better than Brady, and Brady will finish with more yards due to longevity. but Brees’ yearly production seems damn near untouchable

Mahomes is the only guy I think could put up more yards and TDs in fewer years than Brees

yeah and again it has nothing to do with talent, just means Ryan took care of his body better / was more durable I guess? Matt Ryan is definitively not a better career QB than any of those guys so how significant is that yardage number, really?

I was just gonna say that Russ on an Andy Reid team might be the greatest QB of all time; and it turns out they could wear matching shirts to boot

How did this become Wilson vs Ryan?

The discussion was if Ryan is underrated, which he is. There are better QBs for sure, but I would have killed to have Matt Ryan on the Jets since 08 as opposed to what we got

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

I mean yeah, definitely fair. I think I got off on that tangent cause I was trying to demonstrate why I value efficiency, ability to elevate a team, and diverse skillset over yardage totals

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

Lord knows I would be twice as defensive of Matt Ryan as @uuu is if he was a Jaguar and we were actually good more often

    Lets Go. Prestigious

is Russ worth 2 first round picks +2nd round pick more than Dak.....?
