speaking of video games, I got the remastered Tony Hawk 1+2 and have been playing the shit out of it the past few days on my Series X

I'm going to project that Jaelan Phillips is the highest rated prospect that falls the furthest.

The concussion history and forced retirement at UCLA are major concerns. He is an outstanding player but one more concussion might be it for him, which is just too big of a risk in the first few rounds.

He's definitely going to fall imo. He's going to be a steal for whoever gets him though.

I’m keeping my eye on Quincy Roche. That’s a guy with really high potential. He’s getting mocked so low cause he hasn’t developed good run defense instincts yet, but if he can be developed into a complete player he’ll be dangerous off the edge

I also feel like everyone forgot about Walker Little and that’s an offensive tackle who is worth drafting on day 2 / still definitely has starter potential

Here’s the weird part: I call shotgun less than 25% of my plays lol

I prefer to get really good tight ends and pass out of singleback / run formations. I like to be very ambiguous about whether I’m running the ball or passing so the opponent has a tougher time reading tendencies on defense.

And the better my run game is, the more resources they have to commit to stopping it which opens up my passing attack.

it also helps because you can’t tell by the formation numbers what formation I’m coming out in. I’ll be running all day out of 2 WR and 3 WR singleback sets... so when I do line up in shotgun it’s a surprise and it’s harder to get prepared.

Roche is the kind of prospect that Baltimore will find a way to get in the third round.

They totally would. They don’t have a third right now but they’ll probably get a comp pick or something.

that would be so ideal too - replace Matthew Judon while still keeping round 1 & 2 wide open to take a T and a WR

You're going to have to pass 24/7 vs me I am not letting you run the ball.

Nah, everyone watched him, that's the issue haha

I like Walker Little a LOT still but he's really risky.

i think that’s what happened last time and it’s why I collapsed lol. But then I also was just playing shitty because it was my first time playing a PS4 and getting used to the slower / more realistic mechanics lol

I am somewhat good at passing the ball now but I still make mistakes I shouldn’t make

  16. I'm really starting to warm up to the idea/reality of drafting Mac Jones. Am I crazy?

To be fair that's how I beat everyone. And the games online are so fast that if you're down two scores, I can start playing the pass now because I'm going to run out the clock and win at that point anyway.

No, I like Mac Jones. He's got a lot of good to his game.

I wouldn’t be happy or excited about that, especially with a top 10 pick, but Carolina is a good enough landing spot that I’d be bullish on whoever they draft. IMO, he isn’t polished enough to be that perfect safe pick, nor does he have the upside to get really jazzed about

I think he's a solid prospect. I'd take him over Fields, but not Lance.

I hate short games. I think longer games give both users the opportunity to really set up their strategy

me and Matt have accelerated clock on - play clock always gets warped down to like 15 seconds, so there's a lot of fast forwarded time. But with that, we do 8 or 9 minute quarters and it works pretty well. 9 is nice for stat padding and team building, 7-8 is ideal for competitive play imo

Meh. If Panthers don't get Watson, (Wilson lol), or Fields in the draft this year I might be in favor of them just rolling with Teddy one more time, and filling their many holes so that they're more ready to draft a lower ceiling QB.

I don't know about Trey Lance. Just don't know about him. Definitely don't take Mac Jones at 8 though... if he falls to your second round pick then hell yeah

  23. What's the knock on Mac? Because when I watch him I see a quick release, consistent accuracy (especially on deep passes), good footwork in the pocket, and decent progressions. I get he doesn't jump off the screen with athleticism, but he isn't like un-athletic.

If the knock on him is that he had a super team around him then I want more lol Tua had those guys too and Mac's numbers are just as good if not better. I mean, I get that criticism, but the guy still made the throws and never had a bad game.

Is he kind of a boring prospect? Yeah. But I can't see why people are so sure on other QBs and then write him off so fast.

to be frank - I'm not "sure" on any QBs outside of Lawrence and Wilson haha

So from that perspective yeah I'd rather have the high ceiling athlete who, if you find a way to teach and develop, could rip off big throws and runs on a regular basis...

than the guy who at best is what AJ McCarron tried to be, a replacement for an underperforming-Andy-Dalton level QB. To me Mac Jones is a guy you're thrilled about if you're:

    1) a competitive team picking late in the first for QB insurance and hoping to MAYBE get lucky that he has all the intangibles
    2) a team like the Panthers who isn't DESPERATE for a QB but would jump for joy if they could get a Mac Jones in the second round.

I think Mac Jones is a terrific second round quarterback who does still have starting potential. Not every QB who COULD be good goes in the first round, ya know? In general you draft early based on ceiling, not floor. The less athletic guy who *might* have the intelligence to make up for it is definitely second round.
