Idk but I would be an easy #1 overall in the Gran Turismo draft

I will challenge any of you in the newest GT game once I get a Ps5.

I haven’t played or gotten used to a GT game in a long time but the last one I really played, GTA5? Man I used to get that angle, apex & exit speed right almost every time on every corner... just became an instinct haha

Gran Turismo is fun if you got skills

Maybe it’s not fun for people who want cars to be able to take hairpin turns at 100 mph, but it’s fun to perfectionists like me who enjoy the challenge of realism

I’m probably ONE OF the better Madden players here, but I’m sure there’s a handful of you who would surprise me and be way better than me realistically speaking haha

I’d really like to play against @Night Channels , @GreatBeardRecs , @xbrokendownx and @Max_123 to see how I would’ve stacked up in the AP Madden league but I don’t have Xbox :(

I haven't played Madden in probably 3-4 years lol

Max and Brian were definitely better than me though. Not sure I ever played @Night Channels in our league.

Eh. I don’t think a game that painstakingly, exactly recreates cars and tracks from all over the world based on thousands of measurements and tests from professional drivers... and even mimics the car’s behavior when g forces cause the wheels to slide or when weight shifts the wrong way on an S curve... can be boring

it’s the closest thing you’re ever gonna get to test driving a Ferrari on the Nurburgring. That’s the opposite of boring haha. I think that’s way more fun than a racing game where the cars act nothing like they would IRL

If i wanted an ultra realistic driving experience, I would go drive in real life. Its not like Madden or Skyrim where I very much so cannot do those things. If I wanna go take a Honda sedan around a curve at 30mph, I can do that

I got an uncle with a Ferrari. I dont got an uncle that can make me a samurai in feudal japan.

this is a stupid point because Gran Turismo has way better cars you’ll never even touch in real life and tracks designed to challenge them

Not wanting to slow down for turns just sounds like you don’t like racing games man haha

it’s about maximizing your speed without crashing, not just “going around a corner at 30 mph in a sedan”. You’re not ever going to get to push a car to it’s limits in real life

I have before and I eventually crashed that car LOL so video games is a great outlet for that desire for me

I love racing games and have played a lot of them. GT just ain't it for me

All I’m gonna say is I would probably take that same corner at 60 mph, and the only reason it’s not fun for you is cause you’ve never tried to think about racing line, incline & decline, apex / entry / exit speed, how your car performs with narrow versus wide gear ratios, throttle control to avoid understeer or oversteer, taking corners more gently on endurance races to conserve your tires, etc

there are so many more variables that go into how fast you can take a corner, than just “slow down this much”.

If you’re just trying to mash through every corner or track, without thinking about how to approach it, then yeah Gran Turismo would suck. But IMO that’s not even trying to play the game how it was intended

I feel like I’m still very flawed on offense. I know how to build an offense and I’m pretty solid at sustaining drives. But I definitely have to stick to my brand, and also factor in how the other person likes to play defense, to avoid making bad errors. If you can stop my main game plan I’m not always good at adapting.

However, on defense I know how to manipulate my AI to play better run defense, and I’m really good in coverage / always a threat to intercept a pass, which leads to more AI coverage sacks as well. Defense is definitely my strong suit and where I’m capable of frustrating other good Madden players.

I haven't played Madden in a few years either.

My run game is always pretty good. I ran for like 2,200 yards with LeGarrette Blount in the last AP Madden league I participated in.

I always had way more fun tearing down and rebuilding rosters than actually playing against other users.

thats part of it for me, I have to set myself up with a strong running game cause I am not that Madden player who likes to throw 50 attempts a game. I play worse when I try to do that for sure. If my running game sucks my offense is average

I am pretty good at elusive running and reading blocks, so when I have a good RB I know how to take advantage. Meanwhile, I read plays pretty well at QB, but dammit I hold the ball way too long, and end up with a lot of bad sacks on my bad days. Been working on that specifically lately.

I enjoyed the guys that played realistically (SIM style). I always got pretty annoyed with the posters that would throw like 40 INTs in a season and their wideouts would have 3000 receiving yards.

I remember playing ATL and picking him off four times and then his XBOX "froze" so we played again and he threw for like 600 yards on me but I still beat him in a shootout.

I have a very dumbed down passing game where I rely on a couple different concepts, but Sail out of different formations is my crutch.

Like you, if my running game is not on, my offense is average at best.

I used to be all about empty sets back in the day. Madden 2006 on XBOX was peak Madden for me. Bombs to Kevin Curtis.
