Great hire, I know Byron has ties to Jax but I really think he’s way more of a risk than Doug.

 

I still wanted Byron but I’ll take Doug after all that

Doug is a nice fit for Trevor / Etienne. I think his style fits nicely with what made them stand out at Clemson

 

On a more serious note I’m excited to see if Doug is a one hit wonder or the real deal. Hopefully he can right the Jags ship

Lawrence is now a salvage / turnaround job regardless what he looked like in college, his confidence has been broken and he’s now behind because he spent a year in a shitty scheme with no weapons amidst some of the most unprofessional leadership in Jags history

And the owner that took 5 years to fire Gus Bradley and like 8 years to fire Dave Caldwell didn’t fire Baalke right away even though the writing was already on the wall. It’s a horrible, horrible decision but can’t say you didn’t see it coming. So was hiring him in the first place tbh.

this shit is part of rooting for the Jags and I can either accept that or just not watch football at this point. And the latter is looking more and more attractive of an option

I get that Jags fans may be disappointed that they didn't get Leftwich, and I get it based on the reported dysfunction in the organization, but Pederson is a good coach IMO

 

So good he got fired after losing the front office, locker room, and "franchise" QB. Sounds a lot like a guy you were just saying isn't good

he also won the Super Bowl with a backup QB who has been utter shit anywhere else he's played

 

I would take Pederson over Leftwich

The players in Philly loved Doug. Above all else, he was a culture-setter for the team. He never won over the front office because the front office never gave him the full opportunity to win them over. That's why he got himself fired.

As for losing the "franchise" QB, Wentz did that to himself lmao
