There is not a sentence or take I could drop in this thread that would accurately represent the futility and frustration I have with football in general right now and I’m seriously rethinking putting any energy into it next season.

 

Shad Khan is singlehandedly taking a loyal and extremely invested jags fan of 27 years who has been through a lot of bad seasons already and sapping away what little enjoyment I was still getting out of it

Rooting for a fairly bad team is fine, rooting for a team THIS stupid just isn’t even fun on any level. I am no longer hopeful for a franchise that’s still failing harder and harder and actively ruining the best QB prospect out of college in the last decade

I like Flores as a coach….but is “the right thing” really hiring someone who is currently suing the entire league? Like, that’s a pretty massive distraction lol

 

I would honestly rather have a controlling stupid owner than one that literally does not give a FUCK about the team he spent millions / billions on

If the Jags hire him, I think that's a good move for yall

It's not all hopeless, although Baalke is clearly an issue in your organization like Easterby is here

The owners love these dudes for whatever reason, even at the detriment of the on-field product and fan sentiment

 

I really think Pederson is the perfect coach for the Jaguars, he's the one who has proven history of reversing a massive cultural disaster and turning it into a Super Bowl. I don't know if he could do the same for the Jags but he could at least get them in the place where they're a competitive team.

But regardless I get the sentiment of just wanting to detach when there's a fan favorite layup and ownership decides to go to the Caymans and die on the Baalke hill instead of taking the layup

 

I want the Saints to hire Pederson so much.

 

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think now that Brees AND Payton are gone we need to stop thinking of them as this amazing destination where plugging in certain guys will automatically be successful.

I'm taking all the lawsuit stuff aside when I say this but it really irks me that this guy is talked about by the media like he is some slam dunk coach

 

I mean, you can’t argue that your team is Detroit Level Sad AND also act like a coach who has had some success with them isn’t towards the top of the list of available options.

 

I'm not saying he's Matt Patricia or anything, but I also don't think he is some "can't miss" guy that EVERY team would be missing out on if they didn't hire him....and I think that was @Swoos point.

what success did he have exactly? 3 years no playoffs. 2 straight years of controlling your own destiny in December/January and your team shitting the bed. Rubbing tons of your assistants the wrong way so much that you have basically a new offensive staff every year. Undermining your QB.

 

Lol never said he’s perfect and ideally he’s learned a lesson or two but to pretend like he shouldn’t be a top 3 candidate for most of these teams is just kinda silly to me.

 

Texans going from David Culley to Brian Flores is an automatic upgrade especially if he and Caserio can already work together, I think that's as close to a slam dunk as the team can possibly get
