    The rivalry is back on

I don’t think I’m as into the throwback looks as most of this thread. They’re cool as a one week thing on occasion but I’d take the current look over the throwbacks for:

    - Bucs: pewter is a cool neutral addition and the creamsicle Bucs don’t have any history to look back fondly on

    - Eagles: I really like the forest green and that color feels distinctly them, unlike Kelly green, which I most associate with the Celtics

    - Seahawks: I’d be cool with bringing back the 80s Seahawk on the sleeves, but otherwise, this color set/ that neon green accent feels distinctly them, as long as it’s not the solid green color rush

    - Broncos/Falcons: more noting them because their current sets arent particularly good but their 80s/90s sets weren’t particularly good either. Too much orange on the Broncos (especially for a team that wouldn’t be one of the first 3 I’d name if you asked me to name an orange football team) and the Falcons are just boring and have the same “no history of note to beckon back to” issue

edit: not even getting into the Packers/Steelers “so bad they’re good” throwbacks they wear on occasion, but I don’t think anyone would actually argue for those looks as a regular thing

The Falcons' current uniforms are an abomination

The Rams' are not much better

I'd have to look at literally every team's uniform history to state which are my all-time favorites, but, as far as current uniforms go, the Chargers, Bengals, and Bills have the best ones

the ones I would take in a heartbeat are:
    - Oilers (ideally as the Texans everything)
    - Dolphins
    - Jaguars at inception
    - old Jets over new Jets because new Jets is just a worse version of new Eagles
    - I don’t know if there’s a bad Patriots look but red Patriots is a good one

I feel this way too, but I hate the gradient color scheme for the numbers

The Rams' throwback uniforms that they revised for 2018 and 2019 are their best and a revision of their away throwback uniforms from the 90s should have been the way to go, in addition to an alternate of some kind (maybe just an inverted color scheme), instead of the direction they went in in 2020

Titans need to figure their uniforms and color scheme out because I do not think what they are going with now works. I like the baby blue, but that's about it. Don't care for navy blue/baby blue as the main color scheme. Get those stupid swords off the shoulder and fuck the skinny, sharp looking numbers

Titans can keep their shitty uniforms and give the Oilers back

Might be because so many of the GM searches stalled. The Bears/Vikings wanted the same guy, etc

I believe in this team. Prestigious

i took sticky to mean a fanbase that is “dedicated” not “saturated”

people often bring up the “least 10 attended” thing but we are a bottom 2 NFL city in terms of population - only Green Bay has a smaller home market to draw from and they have 100 years of history, most of it experiencing playoff success, on their side. We *should* by all means be bottom 10 in attendance haha

id say, although this wasn’t always the case, for the Jags to do okay for 25+ years despite representing a metro area of less than 1.5 million people AND sucking for most of the last 15… is relatively “sticky” considering the odds aren’t in their favor.

This also doesn’t begin to mention that a large portion of Jax population is military families that are often forced to move away / military transplants who grew up rooting for different teams… which makes it even harder to maintain attendance

I mean, completely fair, though I think "metro size" has gotta be pretty wonky since Pittsburgh/Cleveland/etc are pretty small immediate metro areas. Like Metro Pittsburgh is easily half the size of Jacksonville or smaller.

Even then, LA is the 2nd largest US city, the fact they cant fill in more than like 25k fans is INSANE. There's almost no other city in the US with >400k where you couldnt do that. You could put an NFL team in OKC and they'd sell out a 50k stadium right away. Omaha and Portland likewise.

I actually think the Titans are a decent example of how hard it is to create a truly sticky team. They were very good early on. Were never truly terrible for a prolonged stretch. Always had at least one exciting player. And if I wasnt a regular in this thread, I'd know zero Titans fans.
