I would tbh bump it up to a second round pick if a week went by and they were still playing hard to get. Ramczyk still very much worth that for an offense that needs to give Lawrence more resources. Considering we already have Walker Little as a promising prospect to replace Cam Robinson on the left side… Our biggest offensive priority right now is replacing Jawaan Taylor at RT cause he also sucks.

I did this last year and it depends on how you define damage. If "push money off into the future on signing bonus nonsense" isnt damage, then I can probably just about keep their whole roster.

But they're where they are because of that kind of restructuring

The thing about having an offensive minded coach and a good qb is once the qb figures shit out, you’re just carrying his bags and making sure you have a good defensive coordinator to figure out the rest

Actually, saints are still so fucked because of all the bonus money they pushed forward. Here's a fun example.

Michael Thomas is a $24.7mil salary cap hit. He has $22mil in dead money if he is cut or traded before June 1. So you cant even save cap space by moving him until after June 1st

 

Why didn’t they start trying to trade their big players this last season? Would it not have made any difference? Were they not just prolonging the inevitable?

 

conditional 2nd based on playing time is what I'd offer...if he meets a certain threshold they also get a 2nd next year, something like that

I cannot see any team giving up a 1st for him, but I guess we'll see
