I'm terrible at Madden and am perfectly fine with that

 

All-pro is “do you understand football better than the average watcher and how to call situational plays to directly thwart the AI”

All-Madden is “do you understand gaming better than the average gamer and how to figure out shortcuts and cheeky tricks to circumvent or even exploit the AI” and it’s an entirely different style of challenge that has very little to do with your football knowledge imo

 

People who are good at beating All Madden AI are often the cheesiest people to play against in PvP and most the things they kill you with are not things that would happen at all in real football

I can kill a lot of “normal” Madden players by figuring out and then taking away their bread and butter routes with user-coverage,

but then there’s people online who know how to exploit every AI weakness in such a way, that they’re calling audibles & plays with specific motions that are nearly 0% stoppable by one user controlling one player at a time, unless you see it coming. Sometimes they’ll even do things that trigger glitches, like nano blitzes that cause your lineman to literally not block the guy in front of them etc… and no amount of football knowledge is going to help you understand what stops the game from acting like that on those plays. These are the kind of things that might get triggered by accident / coincidence once in awhile by a casual Madden gamer, but a hardcore EA sports gamer would notice what triggered it and figure out how to do it predictably. It’s much more of a “gaming” skill than it is sports knowledge

it’s much like competitive super smash brothers haha. If you can’t “wave dash” & take advantage of that glitch that speeds up the rolling animation and makes it look like you’re sliding around, no amount of regular rolling / dodging or fast reflexes is gonna help you land more combos on them than they land on you.

 

I did a real good job rebuilding the Panthers in Madden 21 when my friend and I were doing a league together. Never let Curtis leave. He and DJ Moore were the engines of my offense with Moore at X and Samuel in the slot. It was awesome. Traded Teddy to Washington for the first overall pick, which was extremely plausible, and drafted Lawrence. Put Robby on the trade block during his contract year and the Colts gave me a first for him. Reinforced the defense with Jaire Alexander, Fred Warner, and Harrison Smith. It was fucking awesome

Do people not know they always do this? The regular people working there should definitely be paid for their time, no excuse for that.

I don’t understand the dynamic at all. If the nfl provides the backup dancers of course the nfl should pay them. But if the artists decide how many backup dancers they need and picks their own backup dancers (which I don’t understand how they put their act together without doing that) it makes sense for them to pay and just negotiate the total pay accordingly with the nfl. Either way they shouldn’t work for free and should also probably unionize so they can’t be so easily exploited like this.

 

Wow when you put it like that I guess it is imperative to have a team that can score more points than they give up.

 

i have no issues saying I usually play on rookie for a few years while building a team up from scratch and then maybe move to pro and that’s about it lol. I have more fun just building a team and then crushing people than trying to make a realistic game/season. Although after awhile it does get a little boring but whatever.

Years ago I just built the team up and then sim the games and only played home playoff games. That was fun. But haven’t played madden in about 2-3 years now and only time I’m going back to a football game is when ncaa comes out next year

 

MLB the Show has the perfect difficulty measurement. I'm an All Pro offense and a Pro defense and need that nuance in Madden haha.

Every online game I play goes the exact same - I allow no hits through 7 innings then I lose 2-0
