Awful take. New Orleans has the best food.

no is a top 5 city in the us. Undoubtedly.

canjun and creole inspired dishes are God tier

 

Loved the food when I was there, didn't love much else

 

I'd love to visit New Orleans and just eat the whole time, but I don't drink and am very introverted and wonder how that would impact my experience

 

Rule bad, imo

 

There's tons of interesting historical sites around New Orleans

You could avoid the Bourbon Street area and still have a great time

 

I like New Orleans alot

very resilient city and people

 

My wife lived there a while (went to Tulane) and is in love with it

 

You SHOULD avoid bourbon street.

 

Still need to visit NO one day

 

People are so nice and welcoming there that it’s hard to be offended by little comments / small talk by strangers. I think you’d find it endearing and nothing like having to interact with random people in your area

I feel like you’re the kind of person who can VERY SELECTIVELY be social in the “right situation” and NOLA is more likely to put you in that kinda situation

 

As far as not drinking, it depends if you’re okay with people around you drinking or not. Cause that will definitely be happening…

but New Orleans is more focused on the sights and spectacles and FOOD at these places than just the drinks themselves… and is def a place you can enjoy a lot without ordering a drink (which you definitely can’t say about a lot of cities’ nightlife districts). It’s honestly a better and more multicultural version of what Nashville offers haha

 

Yeah fwiw the fact that I don't drink/am antisocial does not mean in any way I wouldn't visit haha I 100% plan on visiting for myself no matter what

I'm already too obsessed with too many cajun and creole dishes to never visit and it's so close too

 

you would enjoy it for damn sure. Almost every restaurant is amazing and non-overpriced seafood is plentiful af. Lot of spots to have a day or night out have arcades and burlesque and live music and idk, whatever else. There WILL be street performers as well. The streets are beautifully decorated and lit up, walking around and taking it in is great. Outstanding parks and a great zoo in town too.

And besides, being such an acclaimed food and drink spot, I’m sure the list of great non-alcoholic specialty drinks to be had there is massive, it’s not like there’s no sober folks in NOLA and they are equally picky about flavor profile

 

New Orleans is great. The team can suck eggs though.
