I didn't watch this game which probably explains why it was a good game

 

It favors a team like KC that has the top offense but a bottom tier defense. It basically let's one team decide how they want to play.

 

I don't think they got screwed. Those are the rules, nothing strange happened there. I just think the rules are designed to get the game done ASAP without a care for quality. And for an institution that went against the popular opinion to add another game on top of adding another playoff team, it's weird haha

 

So. Play. Defense.

 

Like, maybe don't give up 800 yards in 13 seconds lmao

 

Whatever, whoever won last night was losing to the Bengals anyway so it doesn't matter much.

Which is so funny cuz yesterday people were telling me the winner of Chiefs-Bills was beating the Bengals no matter what!

 

I think the logic in wanting the game to be over ASAP is sound though, if you don't think about it from a player safety standpoint. In our eyes, yes it should be for player safety purposes. But in the NFL's eyes it's to make sure they keep each network happy and end the game on one to get you over to the other.

 

This was talked about during the rams chiefs game a few years back, then it went to shit lol no one wants to see Gardner minshew vs Andy Dalton in ot lol

 

What is the actual logic here though lol. How is this a fair assessment of both teams in their totality? The argument is always just "those are the rules, suck it up", never explaining why improvements aren't needed haha

lol i just think the idea that improvements are needed are based almost universally around the idea that defense doesn't matter anymore and let's just scream weeeeeeee as our new shiny QB gods do whatever they want lol

Except that's the opposite because I'm saying both defenses matter, not just the one that loses a coin toss.

I mean, going with your logic and your rules the eventual outcome of last night is:

Chiefs score TD
Bills score TD
Chiefs score TD again but now in sudden death lol

Because the goalposts are gonna move forever and once it becomes "each team gets a chance on offense, then sudden death" all of a sudden people will complain about THAT sudden death portion and then it becomes ALL offense because it ends up breaking defenses from playing way too much football and creating way more injuries

I get that you wouldn't want the goalposts to move...but they would and we know it
