OT rules aren’t great but it’s better than before when you could win with a field goal. I just can’t get over letting them score with 13 seconds left, how about just don’t do that

 

The only thing I hate about the OT rules is that a coin toss determines who starts with the ball. Both teams should be winning in regulation. I don’t think that one team should be awarded an opportunity simply because it’s overtime. Like, the Bills should be incentivized to, ya know, get a stop in regulation with 13 seconds remaining lol

With that said, I’d rather the last team that scored to send it to overtime is on defense to start overtime. I just do not like that a defense can be on the field two drives in a row like that simply because of a coin toss. Next score wins doesn’t bother me as much as the coin toss. We don’t need another full quarter, we need a winner.

 

Whats the sudden obsession with Jonathon Gannon? I really dont know a thing about him outside of being a DC.

 

I always do find it kinda silly when you see takes like "why didn't X team take this player in the draft?"

Like if Allen were drafted by any other team he might not be what he is today

Its due to his own internal growth, a good offensive system, supporting cast and coaching

alot of variables

 

The overtime rules debate is always so annoying lol. No system will ever be perfect and maybe the Bills defense should have made a stop lol

 

Maybe a coin toss shouldn't decide the game

 

Yeah I was just thinking that we don't think or talk about the Jacksonville Jaguars enough every second of every day including during games they aren't involved in

 

If the NFL let defensive players play more defense it wouldn't

That's the real problem IMO

But I too am so tired of arguing about it and y'all are clearly more upset about the OT rules than I am in love with the OT rules or anything so fuck it, change it, just don't make it college rules. Anything to shut y'all up about it especially since we know the NFL will never let defensive players play defense again

 

But also don't forget the playoffs could look vastly different if Davis Mills didn't keep the Chargers out of the playoffs

 

I don't think the Bills got screwed or anything. They shouldn't have kicked it into the end zone with 13 seconds left. But the coin toss is so fucking stupid lol. Way too much influence for something that has nothing to do with the actual sport

 

It doesn't. They still did stuff after the coin toss. The chiefs did stuff better so they won lol

 

Yeah just give each team a chance on both sides of the ball and then sudden death of its still tied. If those were the rules would anyone actually want them changed to what they are now? I don't think so

 

Did one thing better - call a coin toss. If the Bills got the ball instead the result would've been the exact same. The Chiefs have a terrible defense and got bailed out by only having to have one side of the ball count

 

I prefer the rules as they are now over that option as it at least attempts to acknowledge that playing defense is still an aspect of the sport.

 

I think I'd dislike it just because I'd KNOW all of a sudden we'd have a billion "go for 2" analytics situations that'd turn the game into a massive risk-reward thing for second possession rather than actually having a sudden death

I really think the solution is to let DBs play football again and I think this is all Peyton Manning's fault

Honestly at this point i'd prefer the coin toss actually just be the end and whoever wins the coin toss just walks off the field.

 

Saw someone on Twitter saying they hope Josh Allen learns from this. Motherfucker had nearly a 1:1 TD:Incompletion rate what is there he could've done differently in that OT haha

 

...a pretty big one. The Bills came in with the #1 overall defense so where the fuck did that go for like 4 minutes lol. They didn't get screwed, they got beat strength on strength.
