Just a few dates with awkward conversation that never went anywhere. Nothing crazy.

one date ended with trying to bring me back to her apt where her brother was staying seemed awkward so had to pivot

Mine wasn’t too notable, she was just a colossal bore so I faked an emergency to get outta there

 

I went on a date with a girl who wouldn't stop telling me about her lesbian experience in college for like two hours at dinner and then insisted on showing me the girl and it was my cousin. My cousin denies anything even happened and says she's just crazy. Was wild behavior for sure.

 

About 2-3 months after the breakup of a 3-year long relationship, I went on my first actual first date since college.

It was 2014 or 2015 but I was still rocking a flip phone, so when I got off the metro, I got spun around and walked away from the restaurant by accident. Then it started pouring rain (not forecasted), and my umbrella-less ass took like 15-20 minutes to find the restaurant. I wanna say the date was supposed to be 6:30, I rolled in like a wet dog at nearly 7.

The conversation is painfully awkward because Ive basically forgotten how to flirt or ask engaging questions. I did a lot of the kinds of questions you use to kill time at a party where you dont know anyone...like a half step from talking about the weather. What I do discover is that she works as a staffer for a Congressman, which I initially think, cool! It becomes increasingly clear that it is not a Democratic congressman. I'm 95% certain she worked for a Freedom Caucus member.

Good news is nearly every date I went on after that went pretty well, because I had tanked that first one so badly it literally couldnt get worse.

I had a date tell me she didn't like to sweat. Honestly no idea how that even came up, but I participate in a bunch of outdoor sports, so I knew that date was done right then. She'd probably die before she camped

 

Dating sucks and I feel bad for everyone that has to do it.

Not sure if it was the worst one I was ever on, but one that always stands out to me is getting set up with a girl through mutual friends, talked for a few days before meeting in person and as soon as we saw each other it was immediate that there was nothing there. I just know both of us were immediately not into each other before we even said a word in person lol. Just from 20 feet away the vibe / mood / whatever changed. So we awkwardly walked around downtown in some city for about 30 minutes before she came up with an excuse for why she had to leave. I literally said, “thank you for coming up with an excuse, I left my phone in my car and didn’t know how we were gonna get out of this” and never spoke to her after that lol

 

Only thing that comes to mind is people that use saunas because idk what else they’re for. Or people that lay out in the sun because what else will happen lol

Not really, but, its the outcome of having fun in the outdoors. Nobody goes to the beach specifically to sweat, but, imagine being the person who wont go to the beach because you might sweat.

Theres basically a small handful of phrases like that, like "I dont like bugs" or "I hate camping" that would also be full stops, but, they at least strike me as things I expect to hear.

Yeah, also raised all sorts of questions of what the 3rd date would be like...

 

I knew this would be a good way to kill a Friday night lol
