I'd say it maybe puts him on the hot seat a little but he is missing a lot of guys.

This is Carr’s first playoff game, right? Because the year they went 12-4 he broke his leg just before the playoffs.

gotta be some kind of record that your starting QB doesn’t make his first playoff game until year 8 of his career and is with the same team that entire time.

Kliff should absolutely be on the hot seat if the Cardinals go one and done in the playoffs. This is two seasons in a row now where that team has started hot and then has completely folded in the second half of the season. I know a lot of it can be blamed on injuries to Kyler and other players, but that shit happens every year in the NFL. That team has withered in the face of adversity.

If they lose to the Rams and next season is similar to this one and 2020, they have to move on from Kliff. No excuse to waste the cheapest years of Kyler’s contract and not have one meaningful run.

I think McCarthy is the only guy who could be in trouble with a loss this weekend. If the cardinals lose then I think Kliff is probably on the hot seat, but as something to watch next year.

Actually Carr is fascinating in a lot of ways:

Year 1 (2014): coach gets fired after 4 games, interim HC rest of season
Year 2 (2015): head coach #2 (Del Rio)
Year 4 (2018): head coach #3 (Gruden), General Manager McKenzie gets fired in week 14, interim GM rest of season
    Year 5 (2019): GM #2 (Mayock)
Year 8 (2021): head coach "resigns" after week 5, interim HC rest of season

Meanwhile Carr starts damn near every game of his career and is 57-70 as a starter and survives 2 hired head coaches, 2 interim head coaches, a new GM after he gets drafted and finally gets to a playoff game in year 8 and is STILL with the team and is almost assuredly the starter next year. that... that never happens.

Tannehill was in Miami 7 years

They made the playoffs in his best year (2016), but he got hurt at the end of the year and Matt Moore started in the playoff game lol

thinking back to the Saban years in Miami...the guys he had on his staff are just ridiculous lol

    Dan Quinn
    Kirby Smart
    Will Muschamp
    Scott Linehan
    Dom Capers
    Mike Mularkey
    Jason Garrett
George Edwards (now a Senior defensive assistant in Dallas)
Keith Armstrong (current ST coach in Tampa)
Hudson Houck (one of the best OL coaches in NFL history)
Mel Phillips (one of the best DB coaches in NFL history)
George Paton was on staff too (current Broncos GM)

Jeez I totally forgot about that

also the Moore hit was by Bud Dupree apparently. Anytime someone gets knocked out in one of these games like that it’s kind of sobering. Makes you reevaluate everything. Yet I’m still postng in the nfl thread on chorus dot fm so I’m probably just an asshole

I feel like a lot of teams try to do the "next Belichick" thing which is kinda what we talked about recently in the "all Belichick disciples are assholes" talk haha, so I do think there's a clear message from specifically referencing Tomlin

I was looking at some 2022 cap stuff...and the Saints are just hilarious. They have four guys with cap hit of at least $22 million and NONE of them are QBs

Marshon Lattimore's 2022 cap hit is $27.4!!!! million

    (I know, I know...the cap doesn't exist)

Remember that one year everyone was trying to hire somebody who knew a guy that knew a guy that had a friend of Sean McVay
