So the Texans are appointing Pep as OC before hiring a HC? Lol

 

Just really loved the Billy Beane portrayal in Moneyball and took it to heart I'd guess

Even wilder, because coach contracts are guaranteed, and he was on a 4 year deal I believe, he gets paid it all and could just straight up take next year off and be the highest paid HC (making $17mil in 2022 while fired)

 

Honestly, Im sure it sucked to take that job in that situation...but getting paid $22mil for one season of work and to probably get interviewed for a bunch of other HC jobs in the future because of it...not too shabby

 

I'd be shocked to ever see his name in a HC opening candidate list

he can go coach his high school football team like he mentioned in his opening presser last year

I guess I’d bump Mills up to a second because you’re not risking missing big since the Texans took that risk for you already. I will not abide a first though.

 

Mills would absolutely be a first round pick in this upcoming draft of QB's so he's def "worth" a first

 

A first round pick in this draft comes with two extra years of cheap contract though

 

Yeah but if a QB ever turns into anything they usually extended them in like 3 year anyways

Okay so that still costs them a year of cheap contract since extensions are tacked on to rookie deals and not replacements for them

 

I know he looked solid but paying a first for Mills would be wild imo lol

 

It doesn't matter cuz Deshaun won't play for McNair no matter who the HC is, it'll be Deshaun being traded
