I kinda expect for him to get canned in the coming weeks because there’s bound to be churn with the offensive position coaches after that meltdown, so good for him if he can fall upwards into an OC job again

Would not at all be shocking to see the Colts can both Mike Groh and Press Taylor considering their history with Wentz in Philly and how this season with the Colts ended

My free agency wants - 1/12:

    - Christian Kirk (the vertical threat the Colts don’t have/he does what Parris Campbell was supposed to do; sink the money that went to TY last year into the $12M/year it probably takes to get him); Chark seems like a solid fit too if they’d rather fill the TY Hilton spot through FA instead of the Parris Campbell spot

    - Jadeveon Clowney (a better version of Al-Quadin Muhammad, and his presence still allows for Kwity to develop on the other side and for Dayo to develop as a sub-package DT and rush package DE)

    - probably a cap casualty LT because the market is not shaping up to be particularly inspiring here

    - idk it’s Chris Ballard, I can’t have a shopping list longer than like 2 players I’ve heard of in a given offseason without being VERY disappointed as opposed to just pretty disappointed when they don’t do anything I want

His odds for becoming the coach shot up to 2nd today. It looks like it's trending toward him, he apparently had a great interview.

Edit: I just saw your other posts lol

Idk if I would consider Kirk a vertical threat. He really struggled the last couple years when playing mostly on the outside while Fitz was in the slot. He's been playing mostly slot this season with Hopkins and Green as the primary outside guys.

He's focused on the playoffs because he knows he's got the Texans job in the bag

Has he not been good in Indy? I always thought he was a pretty solid WR coach (mostly because he got the most out of Nelson Agholor) who got peter principled into higher roles

    yeah Trevor prove him wrong

Parris Campbell was supposed to be a vertical threat from the slot and IMO Christian Kirk is a similar but better player at that (contrasting from like Juju, who is more of an underneath safety net/“big slot” guy). TBH, the Colts probably need both — that second outside “burner” receiver and something reliable in the slot. They just have more on the roster that covers the former than the latter at the moment

I'm sure Wentz got back to bossing him around and making fun of him again in between hang out sessions with his boy Press

I'd be curious if they take a shot on JuJu as that reliable slot threat, but also for his blocking abilities to help in the run/screen game. His big frame could also give the Colts another weapon in the red zone. He's someone I wouldn't be surprised if the Eagles showed interest in as well considering their offensive scheme.

honestly, I’m not really sure how to tell with position coaches, other than by what signals the coaching staff gives in the offseason with their moves and general word of mouth

Michael Pittman Jr has developed very nicely, and the WR position was otherwise a black hole this year (Pittman was the only pass catcher on the team to break 400 yards receiving). “We have to get more out of the passing game” was Frank Reich’s main postseason presser comment and that’s as close to a biting criticism as will come out of that man’s mouth to the press.

I don’t know how they’ll assign blame between personnel, both at QB and WR, and to the offensive staff (especially to the position coaches who don’t touch the run game as much) but it stands to reason there is likely a decent amount of turnover there to try to get more out of that facet of the offense.

I mean, I’d be cool with that too. A day 2 pick and a short term FA upgrade with emphasis on improving passing yards/attempt is generally what I’m expecting this offseason, and if Juju + a downfield outside threat is how they address it, I’m all for that too.

I agree, the Colts probably would be playing this weekend if they still had Rivers

like I said yesterday, Tua was not good enough in the final few games. However, its clear his mechanics were thrown off and he was trying to rush throws in anticipation of being hit.

in November into early December, he was actually really good and really efficient
