    The rivalry is back on

apologies if you’ve said this already, but with the Steelers in what I’d guess is a similar position to the Colts had Rivers not retired, what would you want as an alternative to Big Ben with a readjusted lower cap hit? He seems like the best football choice for 2021 IMO and in hindsight, I’d probably prefer the year-to-year band-aid to some of these other options

  3. The steelers aren't going to win a super bowl with ben, so get started for life after him. Roll with Rudolph/Haskins for 2021, try to find the long term solution in 2022.

If the steelers had a good running game and they need ben to throw 15-20 times a game, sure maybe he can pull it off. But ben can't play under center for whatever reason, they can't run the ball, I'm not convinced matt canada will be any good or ben will even listen to him, etc.

Also, they'll restructure his contract and push more money into future years that will become dead money. And yes they have tons of cap space now in 2022/2023 but they have to sign watt and minkah, rebuild the oline, etc.

Just rip the band-aid off and be bad for a few years. Going 9-7 or 10-6 with ben and a first round playoff exit...what's the point.

@xbrokendownx your bullshit fanbase on twitter led me to someone who said Penei Sewell is the same as Jalen Mayfield.

    re: our earlier ethics discussion

I just saw Peyton Manning in a commercial about sexual abuse as if he wasn't guilty of it himself (let alone slandering that woman in court and ruining her career) and I've never wanted to punch somebody in their fucking face more.

The guy who said Chris Grier was on thin ice is maybe one of my favorite situations ever; like, I was waiting for him to follow with "but did Flores make the playoffs like Gase" or something even dumber

Truthfully, its why Id like to just move on from Ben; I'd like the era where we value these people as athletes and commentators to end, everyone agree to just not work with them anymore, and we move on. And when they try to become relevant again, we tell them to come clean or fuck off.

Its where I can excuse Vick as an analyst going forward, but would boycott Peyton ever doing commentary.

Okay so Chris Ash is our Defensive Backs/Safeties coach.
But Joe Danna is our Secondary/Safeties coach.

    what does that mean

The Jets have FAR too many holes to use a first round pick on a RB.

RB in the Shanahan system is basically plug-and-play no matter who's back there. I think we'll roll into 2021 with an inexpensive FA (Jamaal Williams from GB), LaMical Perine, and Ty Johnson. Maybe a late round pick too.

SF is able to churn rushing yards out of guys like Jeff Wilson and Raheem Mostert. I'd be shocked if Saleh/LaFleur and Douglas used a first rounder on a running back.

This team is lacking at premium positions like WR, CB, and EDGE. That's who the 23rd pick should be used on. I'd be OK using a first on Collins or Owusu-Koramoah though.

That said, if they can make Jeff Wilson look good, they could run wildcat with Najee and go 10-6

Yeah, I agree with all of this. Wilson at 2, a better pick at 23 and then the rest of that draft would have very different results for me. But Fields 2 and a RB at 23 felt like violence lol
