The NFL is a cultural force where the best way to divest from it means divesting emotionally as well. Talking about it/keeping up with it drives demand for it as well

I do feel like we are kind of the problem as well, as fans we still watch while these shit heads are on the field. So I definitely think fans should be kind of guilty for supporting these guys or the teams that employ them

Point blank: I can't understand how someone can root for Ben to succeed for the last 10+ years and also be like "He's a bad guy! He doesn't deserve anything!"

Fans just need to own up to the shitty behavior. It's on us to be better, nobody is perfect. Recognizing that is a huge step.

  4. No one is saying fans aren't hypocrites but I sideeye anyone calling out someone for liking a team because they have shit people on it

You don't need my permission to side eye the comment but I adamantly couldn't root for the Falcons / Chargers if they had Big Ben or Jameis as QB.

this is not me defending Vick because he is a piece of shit

    BUT

he did go to jail and serve his time and really does seem to be a reformed man now. I'm not sure he should get the same hate as people like Big Ben and Tyreek get because they weren't punished at all

10000%. I just couldn't do it because, and I know this is stupid, but I felt genuinely betrayed by the dude.

With the ability to restructure that they suggest, I'd give Aaron Jones a deal like Leveon Bell's...small signing bonus, just guarantee the base in years 1 and 2 and prepare to cut him after it

Yup, and the Dolphins don't just have a lot of cap space now, they have a ton of cap flexibility later.

Whoa whoa whoa....the Seahawks offered the Browns Wilson for the #1 pick? Thats an insanely big story I've somehow never seen. Just doesnt add up

Yeah, and a big time RB contract, while probably not as worth it money wise as OL or DL, is also one you can make shorter. Like, you wanna sign a 26yr old LT, its a 5-6yr deal minimum and the guaranteed money is more than Aaron Jones whole deal. I'd rather spend my draft capital trying to grab one of those guys cheap than getting Etienne.

Sam Darnold is younger than Jeaux Burreaux. Wild.

Also, going for a big Aaron Jones contract instead of drafting Najee is bananas

Wait wait wait the Seahawks offered Wilson to the Browns in 2018 for the first pick and the Browns said no???!!! That cannot be true.

Like your absolute best case and unrealistic scenario for Baker was that he would someday be as good as Wilson. How would you say no to that trade?

FWIW I think they asked for 1 and 4.

and it’s part of the reason Russ has a NTC

Good point, I forgot he was nowhere near the consensus number 1. Still a crazy trade for Seattle and an easy yes for Cleveland

1 and 4 for Russell Wilson? Yeah, I do that if I'm Cleveland. If everything else plays out the same, they're competing for Super Bowls.

Meanwhile Seattle drafts Sam Darnold and Pete Carroll is looking for a new job in two years.
