While these are all super impressive, I legitimately guessed which player was which out of Devonta/Waddle wrong almost every time haha. Mac Jones had a downright criminal amount of talent around him.

I agree that Zach Wilson has ridiculous arm strength and ball placement but people are putting wayyy too much stock in him being able to throw bombs all day at BYU.

He will need to develop more of a short game to deal with better pass rush and more thorough zone coverage in the NFL. I’m not saying he’s automatically bad at that, he could pick it up quick, but people are crowning him so fast.

I love his skillset, he does the difficult stuff really well, but doing that stuff all the time is not reality in the NFL. You more so want him to have that skill in his back pocket when you need it, but not have him chasing the difficult solution drive after drive when it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Teams are really good at taking away the deep ball if you rely on it too much.

he threw 11.0 yards per ATTEMPT last season lmao. I don’t even do that in Madden. Even Mahomes averages 8 and a half.

 

Zach Wilson is a superior Josh Allen prospect.

I would not be mad if the Jags moved up from 25. I just don’t want a whole draft like that and sacrificing 4 years of picks lol. if we traded 25, next years first, and like a pair of thirds to go get Jamarr Chase or Penei Sewell I would leap out of my chair thrilled about it.

if we THEN moved up AGAIN with way MORE draft capital for Kwity Paye though... that’s when I’m like hold on slow down stop lol

 

From what I've seen of him, he's really, really good in the quick game.

He processes fast and is extremely accurate. Playing within the scheme and taking those shots are what he was asked to do.

He just absolutely killed teams with climb routes over the middle and back shoulder stuff outside the numbers. He's one of the best play-action passers I've seen in a while.

 

Yeah I just wonder if he’ll be able to shift to a healthier balance or if he’ll come into the league too greedy and that’ll be a tough habit to break.

I’ll revisit the tape, but my initial conclusion was that he was so successful with the deep ball that it made short passing easy. If that remains true in the NFL, and he really can force teams to play Cover 4 a lot more than they want to, that would be AWESOME. But I’m skeptical of that amount of game changing big play success downfield being sustainable at the next level.

 

But I mean. Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes haha. Dudes who are just THAT good at threading it downfield do exist. I just don’t want to over- project that vs the equally likely outcome of a player not being able to play that way in the pros.

Zach Wilson is an easy #1 OVR pick in any other draft. This isn’t a major criticism.
