If I ever DID get a crazy enough tech job to move to LA - like upwards of six figures - this looks pretty dope haha. Especially if my eventual spouse didn’t want kids. That extra sun room would be my music recording space all day. And then I’d do so much gardening in that terrace, and maybe put at least an above ground pool or hot tub down on that bottom concrete slab

I would go for modest in size, extravagant in location basically. Would much rather a small bungalow on Mt Washington than a big ass house in the valley for more than double the price

It really is more about the outdoor space & location. I don’t care about a big house if I don’t have children haha.

Pasadena is cool; that house is between Pasadena and downtown on a mountain

Assuming you're working in downtown LA, sure haha. At no point is 700k for 500sq feet justifiable haha.

Yeah, that's a dope 540 sq feet. I don't care if it comes with a fridge that re-fills itself with groceries, 700k is outrageous

 

If I move out there, Pasadena is where I’d live

 

Again it looks more like 900 sq ft maybe even 1000 if you include the downstairs. Like I really don’t think that’s accurate haha. The upstairs alone looks like it’s at least 27 x 20 which would be the 540.

 

Also you have to be out of your god damn mind to buy a house in California regardless

 

I lived in a dude's pool house in Pasadena when I first got to LA. His place cost over $1 million and the square footage/backyard was way less than my modest childhood home

My childhood home was 5x5, 4800sq ft on 2 acres. Shit cost 200k.

I know and I think that’s only accurate for the upstairs. Like maybe downstairs is an unfinished basement and doesn’t count for the square footage cause it’s not a living space yet. Obviously I would use that space for something lol. Turn it into a guest room.

 

I mean yeah. But if some tech corporation offers me a job with a salary that makes my salary on the east coast laughable - which happens in the tech industry - then it might be justifiable to at least rent there for awhile
