We all finally came around to Friends not being very good. I'm fine being ahead of the curve here, though I think through quarantine people have started to come around to my side a bit more.

 

the problem with Heroes is they brought in WAY too many storylines...there was like 10 things going on at once and it was hard to follow after awhile

I also loved Lost while watching it but I absolutely hated the way they ended it

 

oh buddy I have been on the "Friends sucks" train my entire life

 

Re-watching New Girl and it is simply amazing. Schmidt's character is gold almost every line out of his mouth.

I was fine with you not liking the Office. But that comparison is straight up heresy haha

 

I really like Jake Johnson and think he is largely underrated. I loved his performance in Drinking Buddies.

New Girl is fine but I can’t sit through more than a few episodes at a time. It’s kinda like 30 Rock for me where it’s just too hokey about being a sitcom with exclusively silly characters haha

I actually like that The Office pretends to take itself seriously

I see literally zero similarities between those shows

 

They're both the most overrated sitcom of their era, which is what I've been saying haha. That's the similarity

 

they were both on NBC

 

Why do I need to care about the characters in a show that’s all about comedic relief haha

I don’t give a shit about the characters in New Girl either lol. Nothing about them is relatable enough to inspire actual emotion

 

my hot take is that King of Queens is one of the top 5 or 10 sitcoms of all time

 

the most heartbreaking moment of New Girl is when Winston decides to become a cop

 

overrated sure

but the Office is still actually funny and much more creative about its humor

 

I don't think the Office is very funny and I don't think it's that creative about it's humor either haha

most people I know do find the Office at least somewhat funny

it’s a shallow show with a gimmick that gets old but it really did start off hilarious imo

see that’s why as much as I love New Girl I can’t put it with the GOAT shows. It just didn’t know what to do with its characters at a certain point and struggled for it

 

this especially bugs me about this show. Dont make the black character a cop wtf are they doing. So tone deaf for a modern show.
