  1. I think I’m gonna switch up my Titans strategy this draft of the board falls right.

I am going to emulate Anton here and go with the "fuck around and find out" philosophy.

Washington Footall Team selects Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky

Washington is ready to compete now and rode their defense to the playoffs where they looked like the only team capable of stopping the eventual Super Bowl winning Buccaneers. You might think to yourself, "yes, now build that offense" but you would be wrong. And you would be stupid. WFT has (read: had) a weakness at linebacker. They just added two STUDS. Fitzpatrick is going to make his playoff debut and that beautiful son of a bitch is going to get himself a ring.

Motherfuckers leave another stud LB on the board. I'll take him in the third I swear to god

Bears select Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M

easiest pick in the draft. The Bears are GOING to draft a quarterback, but lacking extra draft capital (Bears don’t even have a fourth this year) makes it hard to trade up. Bears were at 8 different QBs’ pro days, clearly doing their due diligence including the non-first round guys Trask, Mond, and Mills. All 5 of the top QBs went before I was planning to trade up (pick 15, New England) but not having to move up for Mond makes up for it.

Mond is pretty well controlled, composed, and fundamentally sound for a college QB - this is an insane QB class for him to only be the 6th best guy. His ability to get rid of the ball accurately and quickly under pressure, with no panic, is probably my favorite trait. From a mechanics perspective, he already has a pretty solid foundation/ framework which means coaches can skip straight to teaching the harder stuff.

Vs Alabama, his entire team was completely outmatched - Christian Barmore especially just fucking dominated that OL. Mond got pressured on just about every play, usually in less than 3 seconds, and still held his own. I would legitimately say the main reason A&M was unable to keep up in the first half is because of poor WR play. They were down by one score and on 3rd & 3 in the red zone a guy dropped an open pass; several other passes in the game showed savvy ball placement given the coverage and the receiver just failed to adjust. I was also impressed with Mond’s senior bowl, he was the only QB who actually played in the game that looked like he had long term potential - head shoulders and torso above Ian Book and Jamie Newman.

Mond isn’t gonna shock you with his arm or his mobility, but his passes have velocity and touch and he knows where exactly to put the ball accuracy wise. He has “quiet feet” and a consistent spiral release even when dealing with interior pressure coming right up to his face. I consider him a “high floor” prospect and one that could start early because of his specific skillset - the first thing you want is a QB who gets rid of the ball and isnt too wild in the pocket, to avoid the liability of constant sacks and turnovers. Mond’s particular strengths indicate he could play game manager early on, and avoid sacks and let the defense take care of him.

Sticking with Dalton only when he’s getting old and on a one year contract would be stupid. Nick Foles and his contract are even worse. However, those two QB become a luxury now, because they give Mond a chance to learn at his own pace. He’s also going to an offense with Allen Robinson and now Rashod Bateman, on a team with an excellent defense that literally made the playoffs with Foles. Give this young man the best possible chance at success.

  14. Tennessee Titans select Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue

That’s right. A WR double dip.

Coming into this draft, the Titans have AJ Brown at WR. That’s it. I legit don’t know who these other dudes are when I look at their depth chart. They really need to address this position in the draft. After taking Terrace Marshall Jr in the first round, I felt better. But I kept seeing teams pass on Moore and I couldn’t help myself. This man might be tiny, but he is a playmaker. Whether you use him in the slot or use him as a gadget player out of the backfield, he will be a threat. If your offense already has Derrick Henry, AJ Brown, and Terrace Marshall Jr, plugging in a player with the skillset and traits of Rondale Moore gives you so many options and chances to be creative. The Titans offense become must watch TV.

Your picks are such Colts picks. Trade down, get unexciting but underrated and great value players in the second round and fill needs gracefully
