The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Trey Smith, IOL, Tennessee

Trey Smith could potentially be the best guard in the draft. This gives him a year to sit, get healthy, get some playing time as a reserve guard, and then take over once Alex Cappa walks into free agency following this season. The Bucs are gonna kill themselves on cap this year and next, which makes getting future stars the biggest priority in this draft.

just lost Matthew Judon and I don’t think they’re gonna franchise tag Yannick after he was disappointing. To trade down and still get the one 3-4 edge rusher who’s good value right here is a Ravens ass move.

Another young addition to the Jets 4-3 defense. From TDN “Surratt has the makings of an every-down linebacker in the NFL. He’s quickly become experienced in man coverage, zone coverage, rushing the passer, and, of course, defending the run. For an off-ball linebacker, there aren’t any restrictions to how he can help a defense. “

I love the idea of a former quarterback helping to lead that defense.

Houston is going with the Miami Dolphins style rebuild here. The Texans continue to build up their defense by adding one of the highest upside pass rushers in the draft. An absolute beast of an athlete, Smith boasts the second highest amount of pressures in the class and while he may be a little raw coming out, he could very well develop into the Texans next sack artist.

 

I’m so confused. How did the Seahawks get ahead of the Texans haha
