Austin Ekeler can be a top three RB2 in the league or an average at best RB1. This move takes pressure off Herbert by investing in the running game while making Ekeler more available to do what he does best. Javonte is the second best RB in the draft. Home run pick for their offense.

KaDarius Toney would’ve fell to you at 25 and then you could’ve easily moved up one or two spots from 33 for Christian Barmore

Lawrence / Toney / Barmore would be a DREAM for Jax on Day 1. Especially if we kept our other second round pick too to use on a TE / T / S

It just really depends on the team. Toney is a very specific “type”. He’s only a first rounder for a coach that knows how to scheme smaller wideouts away from press coverage, and design plays to maximize YAC, rather than trying to get it all with air yards and anticipation from the QB.

which, Urban Meyer is probably one of those coaches. That’s always been his WR style in college.

if your playbook is good about that sort of thing, then Toney could be extremely dangerous. He’s so shifty it’s scary. But Toney would not be a good fit at all in a vertical offense.

 

I think he’ll do just fine with the Jets :)

That’s fair but I think Waddle is a tier or two above the next receiver. I don’t understand the criticism he gets on here haha

 

It’s Henry Ruggs / Jerry Jeudy syndrome haha, its just hard to blink twice and believe both Alabama receivers are really elite so people tend to really favor the better one

 

Outside of just the talent gap, I also think Waddle would be a perfect fit in that offense. The top 3 receivers would complement each other very well. Laviska would be your slowest receiver lol

 

But what I said is probably a mistake. Like. Imagine passing on Justin Jefferson because you’re more bullish on JaMarr Chase being the one who drove that offense haha

there are definitely times when both are just really good. Martavis Bryant might be out performing Sammy Watkins right now if he didn’t get fired for smoking weed

 

Yeah, Jeudy/Ruggs could definitely play into it but Devonta > Jeudy and Waddle > Ruggs. Waddle MAYBE > Jeudy too.

I think Waddle is your WR1 in any given class. I think Chase and Devonta are rare. My apprehension towards Waddle is mostly directed at those who have him above Devonta. Shit, TDN has his THIRD in terms of prospects rn.

 

I think Waddle is closer to Devonta than he is Jeudy in those Bama receiver rankings.
