Also, I understand that Ertz isn't what he used to be, but the Jets have the cap space to take him in, see if he can get healthy, and gives the young offense a veteran who's won it all to learn from and lean on.

@CarpetElf Colts have traded #85 to the Browns for OBJ.

  10. In this universe, the Colts have traded for Sam Darnold. I was lucky to steal Darrishaw to help protect him. Now I find him a dynamic veteran receiver. OBJ and Pittman would be a good duo for Darnold.

This is a universe where the Seahawks and Giants agree to a trade and the Jaguars get to veto it so who cares.

@uuu why you salty about the Wilson thing? I personally see no reason for the Seahawks to do that, even in a mock draft that’s somewhat idealistic / unrealistic I kinda agree with others that it would be a weird move that really throws things off.

I mean if people veto’d one of my moves i would understand that this is a group / collective thing and that’s a discretionary group decision. I feel like the point of this is to at least try to represent that team’s identity and letting go of Wilson is the opposite of what Seattle wants to do.

(for the record, I agree with you that pick 4 is way too high for Kyle Pitts and get why that made you think this is just a silly mock draft. I’d never take a non blocking tight end at 4 even though I love Pitts. But I also don’t think @Swoos was trying to get crazy and that it’s valid to disagree & think an elite weapon is worth a top pick regardless.)

This is also a universe where the Jets and Washington Football Team are well run organizations lol

I literally couldn't be less salty about the decision to veto the trade on the merits of the trade because I don't care. This is a mock of randomly assigned teams, unaffiliated with a publication, done for fun.

The line being drawn in the sand is arbitrary and deserves to be poked fun at.

Weird move that throws thing off of what? Reality? The Colts just traded the same pick for Carson Wentz and Sam Darnold.

It's either fun or not and it was pretty well established that this one wasn't as serious based on the... random assigning of teams and us just squeezing one in before the combine.

Yeah but Wentz and Darnold suck and there’s actually a reason to trade them haha

but, I get you... I just also understand the group wanting to find a balance between this mock draft being fun and it not getting TOO ridiculous

There is a valid reason for both the Eagles and Jets to trade those QB's respectively.

For them to agree to share possession of the Colts pick is the odd thing.

No, the point is the Colts traded next year's second for Darnold here, and Wentz IRL.

Just further cementing that this isn't rooted in reality and is supposed to be fun

What if, for a lot of people, the fun of this draft IS the perceived realism though? I mean, sure, we aren’t expert draft analysts but we legitimately are trying to look at things through the perspective of that specific team

All I’m saying is if I’m the Seahawks I will literally do all his house chores for him if that is what needs to happen to keep him on the team for another 5 years at least.

The perceived realism then creates a reality where the Jets and Eagles are sharing a draft pick.
