It's over, it's done. Did fine, not great, not bad. Krebs was the key piece. Slots in behind Dylan Cozens on the org prospect rankings. Tuch helps as soon as he puts the jersey on (next year?). Move on from this stink and try to not mess this rebuild up
Sabres find more and more ways to embarass. sounds like Eichel is getting the disc replacement surgery and might be back on ice in 4 months
I mean I don't really care about the team because it's a joke but what exactly did you expect as a return for a disgruntled player that won't play for the next 4 months? I think Adams is lucky he didn't get bent over a barrel having no leverage
Honestly I don’t think the return is all that bad. Calgary’s alleged offer was much much better. But honestly this happens every single time a star player hits the market. It comes to light that the team is asking for a kings ransom, everybody acts shocked, and then they eventually settle on something a little lighter. Negotiation, baby!
I have a strange feeling that Calgary's actual offer was centered around Monahan as the money out player, in which case I think the Vegas package is better. Kevyn Adams and Kevin Weekes were teammates in Carolina for a few years. I don't think it was necessarily "fake" but I think that tweet yesterday was to turn up the heat. Little bit of "I'll help you down the road with scoops if you help me here"
Return is in the ballpark of what I expected for a player who is out 4 months or so from the time the trade is done and wants out bad. No idea what Vegas does cap wise when everyone is healthy.
It could’ve been a worse return. I just can’t believe Buffalo let it get to this situation. You actively tanked for a franchise player and then basically let him down every step of the way, and then refused him to get surgery he was comfortable with. It’s just a massive failure IMO
Is there any validity to the rumors some of these pieces might get flipped to the blues for tarasenko?
What's a realistic timeline before eichel actually plays a game? This gonna be a kucherov type thing?
I really like krebs but it definitely feels like if they traded him before he got mad at them they could’ve gotten more
I think those rumors were all based around Matthew Tkachuk being involved, since he's been linked to wanting to come home for a while now.
I mean everything about the team has been a failure for a decade, there's nothing to be surprised about. Tim Murray blew his wad on the first rebuild and whiffed on a lot of moves. Unfortunately Lehner tried to drink himself to death here before getting himself straightened out, that was a big one. They whiffed the ROR deal. Botterill was awful at everything and hired two awful coaches. That felt like Strickland carrying water for the Tkachuk family IMO. Tuch and Krebs both fit the Sabres timeline I feel like. Tuch isn't *old* and they don't have anyone like him on the roster currently. Krebs is just as young as the rest of the guys they're counting on to rebuild the team.
