Watching the recap of the Kraken game last night and looking at the stats and they only played six defensemen. That seems lower than usual but maybe it just seems that way because 12 forwards played but idk six guys with the lowest being 15:53 TOI seems unsustainable
That’s completely normal, actually. It’s always 12F, 6D unless a team rolls out a 7th D-man or something unusual. Their TOI looks balanced as well, more balanced than usual.
interesting, good to know! I never really looked at TOI before and generally assumed 7-8 defensemen usually played a night. But I guess how most play defense it makes sense only 6 would be used since they’re not covering as much ice / constant moving as forwards.

If KK works out I think this is the best group of forwards we’ve had in a long time. The depth is impressive. I’m glad to see Bear on the top pairing. He’s apparently been very good in training camp and preseason. Big shoes to fill obviously.
