The right move by Montreal

 

This is great for the canes. They fill the empty spot on the 3rd line with a young player who has a ton of potential and is sure to get a long deal contract after this season for lower AAV. Giving up 1st and 3rd round picks doesn't even hurt the canes too much (especially if this guy is as good as we think he can be), we have a ton of prospects and just had 13 picks in the 2021 draft. Also didn't realize he was the player drafted right after Svechnikov, pretty cool.
