To me, it just seems like most teams have a general amount they are willing to pay one or two goalies. Columbus never offered Bob once they realized his agent was starting at a place too high for them.

I think with the premium on defensive players that can score or drive play, starting centers, and then scoring on the wings, something has to give in the cap world. I think the Blues winning confirmed some things for front offices. Load management and cap percentages just seem to be going away from goalies. Seattle needed to spend somewhere with how they executed the expansion draft.
