Although, their scouting has been awful since they fired almost everyone but still. They should turn around and trade those picks for something better to try to get eichel to stay.

I could see it being used in either the Eichel or Reinhart package.

Just using a rumored team as an example, perhaps you could finally get ANA to bite on sending #3 if you're sending #13 back instead of no picks or something like that

 

Happy for Sabres fans to see them win a trade.

While Philly did give up way too much I still think Ristolainen can be a solid 2nd pairing D in the right situation. Time will tell if that is in Philly but people are too quick to dismiss the player overall when a lopsided trade like this happens.

 

That's exactly it. He's not awful. He's awful how he was used here. If he's deployed properly, he can still be a useful player.

He's just not a first pair, toughest matchup, 25 minute a night guy.

I don't see how Minnesota has lasted this long into the Eichel discussion. They are absolutely screwed capwise in a couple years. They're gonna have to move substantial money which necessitates moving Dumba or Brodin which doesn't make sense when they have lost two defenseman in the last week for nothing.

 

Convinced this trade is just a flex by BUF, the cost for eichel will be astronomical
