GM Guerin has been rather vociferous in the local media here in Minnesota about how much of a believer he is in Dumba and how Dumba has a longer track record than Fiala. He was quoted as saying that Fiala had "three good months". I think you could counter that argument by saying that Dumba has more mileage and Fiala has more future upside but given Kevin's struggles in the playoffs and the fact that he didn't get going until they called up Boldy in December, he is not without some question marks
Apparently Fiala is kind of a pain to deal with & I understand not wanting to have that around when you're kind of forced into a rebuild. If they were trying to win it would be a different situation but for the Wild I understand.
yeah I just hate locking yourself into bottom six players longterm as a general roster building premise, but its hard to question Tampa
I know this guy is hit or miss, but this is interesting. I feel like thats a good contract for Johnny hockey given what other players have signed?
Apparently he's like holding on to life after being poisoned. Crazy. In related news the athletic had a good piece on Russian NHL stars maybe having trouble coming back next season. What a world.
Losing all 4 of these guys would be bad. I'd hope they get to keep 2/4, Trocheck and Necas preferred but I doubt they want to pay Tro what he'll be asking
in no world should you be able to gain positive cap space by buying someone out lol like how is that a thing
Is there evidence that he did anything specific that makes it seem like they want him gone? I think, in this case, it’s just Carolina doing normal Carolina things. Deangelo was great value for them last year, but now he is going to want market value… I honestly find it weird that Carolina continues to just be ok with rolling the dice and allowing their guys to potentially leave- but maybe this is their way of playing hardball with RFA’s? Like, hey you want x dollar, so go grab it and we’ll match or take compensation on the offer? I don’t know, it’s bizarre regardless.
