Pac-12 commish leads voices suggesting College Football Playoff expansion be paused amid SEC additions

 

I see what's he's saying. He's for it but just like maybe let's see what happens with all the conferences changing. I/we had no idea conference realignment was back again.

I think nothing truly changes though. I still think conference championship winners should be auto qualifiers but alas nothing changes.

Idk why the pac feels it necessary to do any sort of deal. If you're the pac, snag a few of these big 12 teams, Boise and improve your league.

Big 12 is done. Or they relegate to AAC type conference (although if a few big12 schools leave, would a team like cincy, Memphis actually wanna join the big 12 at that point?)

 

Legendary FSU coach Bobby Bowden dies at 91

 

One of the all time greats. One of the nicest and most likeable coaches ever. Only coach I can think of that bitter rivals not only respected but admired. People would drive by his house and honk and wave and he'd always wave back and smile. Fans would show up for autographs and he'd sign whatever they wanted. People crashed cookouts and he had plates for them. Dude was beloved and meant a lot to the city I'm from. FSU lost me with Jimbo but I grew up on Bobby Bowden football. RIP.

 

RIP Bowden... one of the all-time greats.

 

Bobby Bowden once sat in a seat behind us at a Bama game and it was a surreal experience. This was a year or two after his retirement. Apparently he would just attend Alabama games with his family from Birmingham from time to time as a fan and I thought that was the coolest thing. He was every bit as nice and down to earth as I thought he would be.

RIP to one of the best people in football ever.

pre-season AP Poll is out: AP Top 25 Poll


Thoughts:

- Oklahoma will drop a random game to an unranked team at some point. Top 5 for sure, but idk about #2

- I'm on the Cincinnati hype train, but #8 going into the season scares me! I'd put them a few spots lower

- Penn State had a historically bad season last year and somehow just pop up back at #19? I guess voters want a ranked game for the opener against Wisconsin. Utah and Arizona State are two other ranked teams I think are unproven

- Under the radar G5 teams: it wouldn't surprise me if UAB, Ball State, and Boise State all get ranked at some point this season
