I don't think there should be pre-season rankings at all. Make the first ranking post-week one.

Do we need any polls, really? Just have the playoff poll come out the last month of the season and that's it.

 

The CFP poll sucks though. It's a small number of old athletic directors who put it together and has some weird biases.

At least the AP Poll has a nice history going back to the 1930s.

 

Traditions change, so the AP poll can go. The CFP poll sucks, sure, but it’s what matters the most.

 

I don’t think FSU should be ranked, but I also don’t think ND should get a bump for (barely) beating them.

More importantly, I’m glad I’m not the only gator fan here!

 

Polls are fine and good and a fun way to have stupid discourse about who the best teams are when you have nowhere close to enough data to actually have a good opinion

they also probably shouldn’t really matter for any sort of postseason decisions
