There are now three subdivisions of division one athletics. Division I and Division II will be four conferences of 20 teams, with Division III being four conferences of 25 teams. Each team plays a 12-game schedule. The top four in each conference play in a playoffs for the conference title. The winners earn byes in the playoffs. The playoffs are 12 teams, the four conference champions and eight at-large teams.

For the Division I and II, the bottom team in each conference enters a playoff, the two losers are relegated. For Division II and III, the teams in the finals will be promoted.

I think both FSU and Nebraska easily clear and so Arizona and Indiana are relegated and, i'm not going do a whole D2 simulation but let's go with Liberty and Tulsa are promoted. Tulsa to the Sun-Belt, Liberty to C-USA; Arizona to Pacific, Indiana to ACC.

I just think it’s nice you included CUSA as a power conference :’)

tbh the thing that does it for me the least is that Penn St’s conference schedule would consist of yearly games against Army, Buffalo, UMass, Navy, and Temple. Or Alabama with Southern Miss, Arkansas St, Tulane, Memphis, and Louisiana Tech. You’re basically taking the worst part of the college football schedule and doubling down on it for the sake of geography

My mother hated football and I was 5 and thought that if there was a team with her favorite colors then she would like it. Shockingly, that wasn't true but I liked watching them too so it stuck.

Yeahhhh fine. I also admit I'm not into all of this realignment stuff. I've always been a huge college football fan and felt like a few tweaks (aka a better playoff, which WE WERE ABOUT TO GET) was really all it needed.

All of this movement is pretty much eliminating any chance for 80% of the division 1 teams to get any shot at anything. The premier teams and leagues are just getting stronger.
