I know he's obviously under no obligation to do it, but it would be really great if LeBron was out there championing for the vaccine. He yields high power and could probably get every single vax holdout in the league to get it.

I get it, really, he's just massively influential that it couldn't hurt. I know it shouldn't have to be on him (or any player) but idk what else to do at this point. We need people who hold that high of influence out there advocating for it.

 

The NBA should mandate it. Until then, everyone does a choice unless the business or government mandates it -- and then the choice becomes get it or don't play/get paid.

 

I've seen the same commercial repeatedly with various players getting the shot (including Klay, Covington and Sabonis off the top of my head) so the league is doing something. Probably should be doing more

Maybe after years of death threats from being attacked directly by the president of the united states we should expect (and demand) our government and institutions to do the right thing instead of relying on celebrities to speak up again and again and again.

Stop giving vocal minority of anti-vaxx NBA players the space to be loud and wrong

The volume was so loud, you forget over 90% of contracted NBA players have received the COVID-19 vaccination — a higher number than the general population in the United States, but lower than the WNBA’s 99% rate.

The volume should be muted — by us.

As hospitals are overflowing through the states with mostly unvaccinated citizens, stretching thin the manpower, resources and morale of frontline healthcare workers, that rate shouldn’t be the one the NBA measures itself against.

Most of its players have done the right thing, especially in light of the league office and teams instituting mandates for their employees to be vaccinated to continue work. Hearing about the stars being so vociferous in their objections makes it feel as if most players are going against the grain when it’s the total opposite.
