He's a really good interior defender.

 

Not related to this year’s draft, just telling you cause you’re someone who loves the Jets and also pays attention to top recruits:

I met Victor Green (former Jets starting safety under Carroll, Parcells, Edwards etc) and his son Elijah Green (senior HS runningback with outstanding agility) on Thanksgiving in Mountain View GA. My aunt is a career journalist / political analyst here in Atlanta, and she celebrates thanksgiving with a lawyer who is friends with, and has represented Green.

We talked football for a good while, and he shared some knowledge about coverages & stuff cause he could tell I pay attention more than the average person. Was pretty excellent. He invited me to one of Elijah’s games at Blessed Trinity High last Friday but I had to work all damn night. Sucks. Elijah’s highlights were bonkers and the kid is 6’1” and runs a 4.36 40 yard dash right now.

@Night Channels what's your skinny on Isaiah Simmons?

 

Simmons is the fastest sideline-to-sideline box defender that I've ever seen.

He's still very new to linebacker, so he processes more slowly than you'd like, but that's to be expected.

You can line him up anywhere off of the LOS and he can play there, especially slot corner. He has a skillset to combat what NFL offenses want to do. The ultimate chess piece that can kill a drive in multiple ways.

I'd hate to see him end up on a 3-4 team. It's a waste of his speed to have him consistently take on blockers.
